The underlying theme is that James is a person who attempts to use his fame to pressure guys into doing what he wants. Mind you these are unavailable guys. Tati said they were straight, the boys came out saying they were underaged and/or straight. James is a sicko preying on vulnerable guys. They're always 1) str8/bi-curious/dl; 2) young people in HIS fanbase; 3) people with less income. i think the reason why a lot of people subscribe to the narrative that tati + others were ‘right’ with the ‘bye sister’ video is because a fair amount of j*mes’ victims identify as straight. that being said, i fully believe that t*ti, sh*ne, and j* knew that j*mes was preying on underaged boys, but omitted that part purely bc they knew that 1. people would call them out for not speaking up about it sooner; (especially if they were to bring receipts) and 2. they clearly didn’t care about ANY of j*mes’ victims, they were only looking to get rid of the competition/humble him out of pure jealousy. it’s disgusting.

Jeffree sent texts to James where he threatened having Zach, Nate's little brother, and then one of the Dolan boys go on camera to talk about their experiences with James. James was the one who published that text. Regardless it is morally wrong to use someone's SA as "tea" or "blackmail." Sometimes I get the feeling that Jeffree, Shane and Tati didn't expect people to focus on the sexual misconduct allegations, hence why they were flip flopping from one side to the other with the voice note and then never saying that he was a predator. I also still think that the voice note thing is absolutely mind blowing. They allegedly had this voice note that they (or at least Jeffree) would freely show to everyone who asked behind the scenes but wouldn't post on the internet and we as the audience just had to trust everyone's word on this. What Jeffree was saying to me literally boiled down to 'oh you have to trust me on this, I would never make this up' when the entire scandal was quite literally him making so many things up. Also how were we supposed to believe that the victim wanted to stay private when Jeffree showed the voice note to every single person IRL, maybe it was fake after all (to be clear, I think it is very clearly not fake but at that point I was just so confused). So many creators said that they heard the voice note too and that it was legit but because we the audience never found out who it allegedly was and never got any details, I felt very icky just blindly believing this because Jeffree is 100% comfortable faking something like this too. Edit: What it boils down to, either the voice note is fake and Jeffree is comfortable enough to fake it realistically enough so that everyone who hears it believes it OR the voice note is real and Jeffree is comfortable with using it as leverage and for manipulation. Both paint Jeffree in an absolutely disgusting light.

@JinMeowsoon
@JinMeowsoon 2 жыл бұрын
Her and JS most likely got threatened with a horrific diffamation lawsuit sponsored by KZbin. It's not petty youtube drama, they made criminal allegations of sexual misconduct publicly, which is a recipe to get sued for diffamation and since they're the ones making the allegations, they would have needed to prove JC did what he did, which wouldn't have been possible unless the victims pressed charges and their legal team would have shown tangible and receivable proofs of the accusations. Taking into account the scope of the scandal, JC and KZbin (his business partner / representative / whatever) could have asked millions in compensations over reputation damage and lost business opportunities. On top of that, if authorities would have taken the case after the drama, they could become persons of interest and if something had comes up proving they knew of the crimes and did nothing about it, they could have also got dragged to court. This whole drama is some high level of bullshit, people keep mentioning how horrific these 3 are for covering him until they saw an opportunity, but what could have they done? If you know someone is a predator, you don't call them out publicly, you lawyer up and share proves of your allegations to whatever competent legal authority with a written agreement you won't be mentioned unless it's absolutely necessary at a potential trial.

This whole video just reignited my distain for JS and why he’s so evil, the fact he kept alluding to this voice note and being like “I’m not go to expose a SA victim” but then literally shopped it around to multiple content creators, having this dark information looming over them knowing they’re not going to do anything with it bc that would make THEM look crazy as well as knowing the individual on the voice note wouldnt come out, basically having it be like this open secret that everyone knows but won’t talk about, like that’s diabolical, and the fact shane still associated with him after that makes him just as bad

Katie started writing about the Westbrook’s back in 2019 though, when she was a contractor with patheos. Then continues harrasing them on YT when she was let go. After four C&Ds Patheos decided to end her contract, and a first for the company, Patheos removed all her articles from the site. The articles were beyond lies and defamation that Patheos didn’t want to deal with the risk she continued to present. She also accused James Westbrook of ki-ll-ing his own mother for a house, and said her father was a mobster criminal because she couldnt find his Birth certificate. That’s beyond unnecessary and creepy. She went wayyy across the line, between harassing and digging in too deep, doxxing private information, making fun of her for not being able to conceive, but to go so far as to label them criminals and accusing him of Mvrder is beyond atrocious. Kate agreed in order for them to drop the lawsuit, to remove all the remaining content on them, stop speaking of them, to testify against Swanson, and to hand over all her communications with the Westbrook’s ex business partner they are in litigation with.

Regardless of what James ended up actually doing, Tati still had a responsibility to act properly if she did indeed know about those things. Not only for the victims themselves, but for her fanbase. She didn't call him out for a pattern of behaviors that she knew about, she basically clutched her pearls and pretended he was too crass about being gay. Saying "oh my god you tried to trick someone into being gay" without calling out his actual crimes is damaging to the gay community. Sexual assault is real and needs to be dealt with, your mom being upset because he might've mentioned a blow job at the dinner table is not the same thing! She can call James out for using his fame and money to pray on young fans without perpetuating the idea that gay men are all out to get you.
@OpossumOnTheMoon

These men dead ass came into a wholesome flourishing genre on KZbin, ruined it with petty drama and manipulating their audiences and now, people are migrating to other forms of videos (Tiketok) or changing their content all together or just not doing beauty anymore. And it really sucks cause now as a beauty KZbinr you have to always watch your back from other players in the community, developers for your product, if you even have enough repertoire to create a product-- or risk being gatekept by bigger youtubers or not being allowed to make mistakes as a smaller rand now dealing with large and overwhelming fame and customers for your new brand. It can't be blamed on all them, but the Dramagedons have really created a dark cloud over commentary and beauty and influencing that will make it hard for people who are unproblematic to break those barriers that weren't there or weren't a big issue before these bigger Influencers.

I remember talking about it with a coworker and really giving Tati a side eye because it was disgustingly apparent that she was flipping back to James’ side because it was no longer lucrative to be associated with Shane and Jefree. If anything she should have taken no ones side and washed her hands of all three of them, which I believe would have given her more credibility. If she had just owned up and said “I stand by what I said about James and to further prove that I’m cutting toxic people out of my life I’m ending my personal and professional relationship with both Shane and Jefree.” And boom done. Instead she tried to come crawling back begging for James’ forgiveness and friendship whilst simultaneously throwing others under the bus to escape any consequences which further damaged her image of being “the honest beauty guru” and taking a stand with someone who is believed to be a pred@tor.

But considering what happened with Davie Vanity, maybe Jeffree knows something we don't. So when he said something like how James touched Grayson Dolan in his sleep, I was waiting for James to address it in any way. I was waiting for Grayson to address it in any way. And when James made that No More Lies video and hadn't said anything in regards to some of the potential "victims", I was very unsatisfied with how Dramageddon 2 supposedly "ended". None of this declared as fact. My conspiracy: This was all planned by Shane and Jafar up until Breaking My Silence. Bye Sister was to take James down a peg; create a vacuum to hype up the doc, the pallate, Shane as a "MUA"; and to test how much Jafar could actually get away with. Tati was manipulated, but it took 0 effort. Shane is telling the truth in being surprised about her bringing up the SH because Jafar just used it to help push her the way they wanted without realizing she had/was gonna bring up her own experience witnessing that. Or said more than they expected her to. There is a surprise there because Jafar's response is a reactionary response. They planted the rumors purposely so Shane could throw his fit and magically never have to care about his new passion ever again. Breaking My Silence was the wrench in their plans. They thought they had control over Tati and her narrative. Jafar is fine because he already tested the waters and knew exactly what he could get away with. For now, he is a true internet villain in the sense that this is what he's crafted his persona into and has gotten his fandom to accept and root for. Shane's newish persona and the fandom shaped around it was the opposite. He was already riding critical waves between growingly more disappointing content and joining the makeup community as a cash grab. Once the digging started it was done and so was Shane. He ran because he was big enough that the Smiths got involved. Ontop of his new audience finally watching his old content and breaking the illusion he tried to create. (I'm not okay at all with Tati taking 0 accountability and all her videos for this were horrible. James' actions have been disgusting.)

Knowing what Jafar could get away with might not have been planned,, but it was a bonus for him. Tati bringing up the SH behavior (or saying more than they expected) did create some bumps, but why not go with it now? Even with Jafar's reactionary response, doubling down on it, and not falling through everything works out okay. Shane's on the sidelines purposely so people won't think anything too serious of the rumors this whole thing was Shane and Jafar. The rumors and people whispering in Tati's ears about Shane's and Jafar are what does it. Especially if the rumors started as bragging.

Tati acted on her own. Stop trying to defend a 40yo adult woman. She was just offended that James would promote her competitors instead of her.

@@aunpaidintern7035 this is my conspiracy about Shane and Jafar's ROLE. Not a comment about Tati's real actions. Conspiracies from comments by randos on internet =/= reality. No one is excusing Tati or her actions. That is reality and this is a conspiracy comment.

@@aunpaidintern7035 stop the ageism in your mentality, a person any age can be manipulated. However i am not saying she was or she wasn't but really thinking someone at 40 cant be manipulated is wrong.

@dunts I think the difference between the trailer for Shane’s doc and the finished product is the best evidence for this. They filmed the footage with the idea that James would be hated and his career would be over at the time of the documentary’s release in mind, but that’s not what ended up happening so they had to change course with the editing. That’s why the trailer promised drama and the series had none

So as a person who used to follow a lot of beauty community content and as a consumer of makeup I will admit that I have flip-flopped over the years on what I chose to consume and who I supported, however since the first story dropped during dramagedeon 2 started my feelings on all of the relevant influencers (to the drama) and their products was “everyone here sucks, these people are awful, I don’t want to have to think so hard about what I buy to wear on my face” and that’s where I’m at now. I love enough makeup brands that I can find something else to use. Brands I love that have never committed straight up crimes/ruined peoples lives and are cruelty free in 2021: •FENTY BEAUTY •Huda beauty •lunar beauty •violet Voss •maybelline •Anastasia Beverly Hills •Marc Jacobs •Kaja •milk makeup •trixie beauty •kimchi chic beauty •rare beauty •Patrick Ta •Elf beauty •nyx cosmetics •Dominique cosmetics •pur cosmetics Stay beautiful and remember to take out the trash.

@@maddymp4 If I'm recalling correctly Mia's video was on Savage x Fenty not Fenty Beauty, although obviously if there's bad shit with one it raises suspicions about the other so idk at this point 😐

your point about youtubers working with drama channels reminds me of how old Hollywood movie studios would utilize media outlets to construct and protect their stars' personas

I LOVE your take on topics like this! You always stay unbiased and talk about the facts. I really that you talked about that face that you changed your views after revising the situation a year later, after you found out new information. Side note: your hair looks amazing !

Hey, Not sure if you'll see my comment but I'd love it if we can get such analysis on dramas other than dramagedon. I've just watched so many videos about this at this point that I feel nauseous just looking at the word 'Dramagedon'. Maybe you could revisit dramas like the 'Huda Beauty vs Beauty Bakerie' or 'Bretman Rock & Colourpop vs LemonHead' and see how the public's perception has changed since these incidents occurred, why it changed, how could we have reacted better, etc. Love you and your videos 🥰❤
