I think the grossest part about his behavior is that he’s fully aware. I haven’t finished the video yet, I’m about 1/2 way thru, so apologies if I’m missing something. But I noticed towards the start there’s a clip of him taking about a relapse and says he did it bc his main channel with 70k subscribers was banned or something. He didn’t just use bc he was so upset or frustrated with it, he says it clear as day, he used bc he gets that adrenaline rush from livestreams and since he couldn’t get on his channel he went to drugs. I’ve got 15 years sober and no living friends from back then. They all died from overdoses or damage done by their addiction like heart failure and liver failure. I don’t think I knew any addicts that would know the why to that level. Obviously if things don’t go your way, you want to use, you can’t handle the stress of a situation or your life in general so you use. The way he explained it told me that he’s aware of his behavior and will modify his behavior based on what he wants. He’s very manipulative. The screaming he has autism is just a way for him to manipulate bystanders so they’ll feel sorry for him and not hold him accountable for his behavior. It’s very very disturbing how far he’s gone with it. He knows why he does it, he knows the feeling he is looking for, and he knows there are other ways to get it. Go for a run and get your adrenaline up, join a gym and learn boxing or something. There are healthy ways he could get that adrenaline he is looking for but he’s too deep in active addiction and a mental health crisis to do that. He needs in patient detox and rehab ASAP. Just had to pause and write this bc your comment stuck out to me so much. Off to finish the video now!

Aside from that, every parent makes mistakes, and it looks like his mom was trying to be a positive influence on him. I hate, I repeat, hate when people use the umbrella term of autism as a "pass" for ill behavior. My twenty-three-year-old son is nonverbal "full-blown" Autistic. I have never nor will ever allow any bad behaviors! Many parents use their childs diagnosis of autism to simply stop parenting and begin maintaining. Not all! But unfortunately, many parents do. I know my son is nonverbal, deaf, and autistic. Just because he has nothing to say doesn't mean hes not thinking or he doesn't know. Whenever inappropriate behaviors manifested, I would correct them immediately by seeking professional help, reading books, reading autism blogs, going to autism support groups, making friends with other parents with children with autism. I hate when people attach this type of behavior to Autism. NOT ALL autistic people are like this unhinged young man, who clearly needs professional help. Thank you.

I have had only bad experiences with autism so I am trying to be as partial as I can so please tell me if I seem leaned toward a view. @NatetheNintendofan Nate, I am not bullying, I am defending people with Autism. English is not my first language, so maybe I didn't make myself clear. I still struggle with that. People with autism are not bad. My son is not "bad" he had "bad" behaviors because he didn't know any better. But with consistent proper redirecting, he was able to learn and now he knows better. My job as his parent is to always teach him. I don't want society to attach "bad" to autism. I truly believe people with autism are some of the purest souls we have. But then again I am biased. I hope I was able to bring some clarity. Stay safe out there.

A month and a half in a psych hospital for this level of illness (particularly years of this level of illness) being life changing is a misconception; we're talking *months* in a residential facility, *months* to upwards of a year in monitored group housing, outpatient therapy, etc. The specifics of the timeline vary from patient to patient, but undoing these sorts of habits and mental thought processes is longer term, difficult work. Being released home after just a month and some change and then leaving the rest up to the patient and their family is why there's a perception of rehab and jail (jail is also an entirely different conversation) stints not working; they're usually too short and the assistance and monitoring provided after the fact is too minimal.

That's something that does really bug me about militaries, the US military is like that too. Even if it's mild, you get blocked. If you're in, do well, prove your worth and show value and end up diagnosed, you're kicked out anyway apparently. It's total BS and honestly, it shouldn't be an end all be all. It's not much different than any other learning disability, like dyslexia or adhd. If you can still get into the military with them, you should be able to get in with autism, especially since it's such a wide spectrum of symptoms where there could be absolutely no impact on accommodations if the military does that. There's nothing visually different that would change how they are able to function, perform their job, or interact with their coworkers

Had a family friend who had Asperger’s, which has now been rolled into Autism, and he would do really weird random stuff socially for attention and not understand why it was bad and had addiction issues with substances/gambling. It’s like it turned off his inhibitions entirely, which got worse when he was on something. It’s something that can be helped with therapy/meds but if you don’t try it spirals badly downhill.

I'm on the spectrum in the former Aspie range. Honestly, that sort of behavior is abnormal, even for us.
@michaellarose49136 ай бұрын
I am also on that spectrum of autism, while im not sure if it's simply autism, but it could also be a side effect of adhd. I was born with both autism(formerly aspurger's syndrome) and adhd and i know that i have poor impulse control likely contributing from both disorders. If my medication is not in my system, i struggle to not act on the subconscious ideas that pop into my head. I also binge eat when im not on my medication and that is not good. It's why i don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I know that if I start, i won't stop, and will probably consume enough to cause a overdose. The only times i drink is when im with other people, who can help me moderate my alcohol consumption.

You do realize nearly everything is learned right? Personality, memories, morals, how you interpret information, etc. Additionally, this is a guy with both Autism and ADHD, that's clearly suffering. While he doesn't have a clear intellectual disability, living with those conditions is hell on Earth (coming from someone with Aspergers, it's alot more then just what you see on the surface. Suffering from sensory issues isn't fun, and that's a shared experience with pretty much everyone on the spectrum). Additionally, pushed into doing terrible shit by one of the things giving him self worth, his online audience. It's clear he's revolved a bit of his self worth around creating content. Try and walk a mile in his shoes, and attempt to understand how he became that person. You don't need to like or respect him, just try and understand (this goes for everyone reading this).

Also the fact that he did ice to replace his adhd prescription in LA, that sounds like a logical attempt to fix himself, and just shows how broken the US medical system is.

I'm autistic myself and struggle with social cues as well as having ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) and I can say there is absolutely no excuse for Spidey's behaviour. Being nerodivergent is no excuse for harassing strangers, going into women's only areas, treating his mother and sister like trash when they were trying to help him, treating the doctors and nurses like garbage and more. It's sickining and could lead to many people thinking that all nerodivergent people act the same way (which is far from the truth) Sometimes there are sadly people who just don't want to change, and I think Spidey perfectly shows that
