I had a roommate who worked for a hotel cleaning service and got the call to clean up the 2015 Hilton mess after the furries left. The bill was in the tens of thousands because of all the human feces that had been ground into the carpets. He said it looked like people were crapping on the floors then stomping it into the carpet on purpose. None of us believed him when he told us the story because none of us knew what a furry was so it seemed impossible a person would do such a thing intentionally. In hindsight i miss those simpler and more innocent times when i didn't know those kid of people existed and still had a sliver of faith in humanity.

See the thing that bugs me about calling it a Fetish Con is that conventions that actually focus on fetishes have private areas and ask that you keep nsfw stuff in the private areas so as to not bother other guests. Adult conventions do exist, but this one wasn't advertised as one and didn't relegate this stuff to private areas. AFAIK the owner/organizer (guy with Mic) was too lenient on his friends' dumb to dangerous antics, there's more history than just 2015 but it was that year everything came to a head and down goes the ship. (IIRC they weren't even staff really, they just were friends with the main guy, so they weren't punished/discouraged properly in previous years. I think I read they/some of them actively resented the fact the owner let the diaper furries be welcome in the first place? so the sabotage is that result.)

I use to deliver pizza in San Jose. The furry convention was held at the radisson by the airport. They placed a lot of pizza orders, and I saw some shit… the hot tub got closed after the first year or two because diapers were clogging it. I got propositioned to get “pounced” in an elevator. One room had the door open, where a bunch of 60-70 year old men in tighty whities were surrounded a bed with some 18 year old twink in his underwear was standing on. And much, much more. After a few years I realized they found a new hotel downtown and these people were out and about in the community. None of this video surprises me

Im probably on the same list as these furries, since they stayed at a hilton too. I kept doing too many drugs and they would kick me out, but I would be so high off the drugs I'd just go back there like 2 days later and for some reason they always forgot and let me get a room again. Until one day when I got in trouble cause I wasnt even paying for the rooms anymore, I just had my RV, Car, and moped parked in the parking lot for a few days cause I was tired of aying so much in hotels. They towed my moped and told me I had to find a tow for my RV so I posted on facebook asking for help, but some joker went to the hiton and said "Yeahh mike sent me, just give me the keys" which they did even tho I never sent anyone to pick it, so then my whole house was basically stolen. I was don alot of meth at the time so my response to that was to start putting up signs saying how much they sucked, standing by gas stations near the hotel telling people that they sucked, and yeahh I kept going to the hotel to leave post it notes everywhere sayng how much t sucked, they'd take pictures of me doing it but I didn;t really care I wanted justice for my RV I;m off meth now tho so I don;t do anythng like that anymore Oh yeahh, the point of that story was, at one point they told me I had been reported to the Hilton corporate office several times now and they basically knew me by name

When my dad was going through his divorce, and me and him were out of a place to live, we lived in a Best Western for about 6 months of my Sophomore year of High-school. It wasn't a bad hotel, we actually got the VIP suites on the house that were never booked because nobody could afford them, and my dad did maintenance work there. It was actually pretty nice. But one night, out of nowhere we find out that we need to pack up and find somewhere else to sleep because a Swinger Convention was coming into town. With no money, I ended up sleeping in the Maintenance room under a desk, and my dad slept in his truck becuase there was hardly any room in what was essentially a storage closet. But just outside this dingy room filled with lamps and tables, I could see the lights from the hallway gleaming through the underside of the door. The shrieks, the fur suit paws occasionally jogging by. It was a night in hell having to listen to the moans and laughs. At one point, I looked out the peep hole of the door to see a 50-60 year old man, just walking casually down the hallway with a leather Jockstrap on eating a donut. . . I will never forget that night. The next morning the hotel staff had to dispose of the sheets from 47 different rooms.

What really caused Rainfurrest to fail was the fact that the convention didn't ban anyone, so furries who were banned from other conventions for good reason arrived and showed everyone exactly why they're blacklisted from everything fur-con related. Basically, the worst of the worst showed up simply because they could and made the whole thing a living nightmare. Every fandom who holds conventions has a blacklist, and I'm fairly certain that if another fandom hosted a convention without their blacklist you'd get a similar result to Rainfurrest if not worse.

Hi, I was there. I witnessed some of the absolute horror it was. I tried to warn them at their complaint panel at the end of con. They said " if it gets us attention, we don't see a need to do anything to change it." I was dumbstruck. I was the person who stood on the table to clear the main hall for the paramedics so they could reach the kid ODing on shrooms who'd tried to drown himself in the pool. After I had managed to direct traffic to clear the room. I was holding the door to redirect traffic till the paramedics had finished. I overheard people saying " oh this is a major incident, this means ppl are going to recognize rainfurrest as a major con now." I immediately asked wtf they were talking about and it was explained that every major convention became considered that after the con had a serious major incident where someone got hurt or arrested. I had never heard this before, but a lot of ppl agreed so it seemed that is was a commonly known thing. So I replied and said " that is a terrible thing to aim as the reason for anything to be considered major. I wouldn't want this horrible thing to be what our convention becomes known for... that's going to give furries bad reputation. We struggle with this enough as it is. This convention is supposed to be clean all around fun. " And everyone was just quiet after that some made sounds of agreement and seemed to pause in reflection. After this. I heard this same rumor several times throughout the rest of the entire con. I would stop and tell whoever I heard saying this the same thing. At one one of them said I had a good point and I should bring it up at the hiss and scratch at the end of the convention. I didn't even know they had a complaints panel, but I literally stayed for the rest of the entire convention (which had been an absolute fking literal shit filled nightmare) just to go to this fking panel and bring up my concerns about everything that I had heard and personally witnessed myself. Which was a lot. There were a lot of fked up things a lot of the con attendees aren't aware of that actually happened. Or heard inaccurate rumors of the incident. I know the truth however cus I actually saw what happened or talked directly to the person that had been a part of the incident and got the story directly. I was very passionate about rainfurrest, it had been my favorite convention. I used to do Anime cons, but after I went to RF the first time, I stopped all other cons entirely. I had some of the best times of my life at this con. I felt the most at home with the furry community. I felt like I genuinely could just openly be myself, and rainfurrest was my local furry convention. I re-shaped my entire artistic direction and career off furries becuase of this con. So ofc I was highly sensitive to anything that was going to put a stain on it. However after I got that responce from having brought these things to their attention and that I had feared the conventions reputation with the Hilton, and feared that we might not be able to keep the con here if these things kept happening.. And their responce was to shrug and go "so?" The arrogance and entitlement of the con hosts was quite honestly appalling. After that I heard the convention was shut down and it was so bad that someone had written a letter to ever venue in the state to warn them and there was literally no place that would take them. That sucked for the furry attendees in WA, but served those con hosts right. I told them... I fkin told them...Their ignorance destroyed my favorite con. Shame these were the reasons rainfurrest became a major con... a major example of a majorly bad con. I hate to say I told you so, cus it's never anything good. And thats why I hate when I'm right, cus Unfortunately I have always been right... I never heard on that kid that had been taken by the paramedics though. I hope he was okay. The thing about the towels in the hot tub is incorrect, the reality is worse. First someone shit in the hot tub the day prior having it closed for the day while they did an entire water change. The next day when they reopened the hot tub, I assume the same person who had shit in it shit in an adult diaper and then shoved it into the hot tub filter, which clogged jammed and broke the motor. Having the hot tub permanently out of service for the rest of the convention. Some of the vandalism had to do with some rooms that literally had shit smeared all over the walls like a Jackson Pollock painting. I wish I was joking, however I saw it myself. There were some rooms that were open to the halls like an open room party, but instead you got hit with that horrid human fecal matter smell and discover.... yeah... it was not pretty. And I heard from several others it wasn't the only room that had this happen. The halls smelling like Sh!t is not a joke. The elevator had been broken far worse than mention in that statement. Ppl had broke buttons on the control panel and a large group had decided to jump on the elevator as it was ascending. Causing a lot of wear on the mechanism that pulled the elevator up. Which ultimately caused the elevator to take a really long time. And being the only elevator to the main area of the convention center and suiters unable to take stairs. It was a long wait to get to the main part of the convention center. Eventually they had to limit the amount on the elevator to about 3 ppl each trip and had a staff member on duty riding the elevator to work the elevator and monitor the activity. Before that happened though, a few baby furs had decided to all togeather wait for the elevator to fill up and doors to close before all taking a crap in their diapers. And with the elevator taking like 10-15 mins a trip.. you can imagine what this was like for the other attendees who were trapped in there with them. I know this happened because I saw someone come off the elevator crying and found out what happened first hand, as I had been waiting for someone else to make it upstairs.

I just only recently came across a report on this that led me to look it up. And knowing that they are still lying about it, acting like their willful ignorance had nothing to do with getting permabanned from every venue in the state pisses me right tf off. A couple drug related arrests and medical emergencies is not enough to get completely blacklisted state wide. This kind of shit happens at a lot of conventions. It happened at sakura-con too before they moved to Seattle, the same Hilton didn't ban them for that shit. There's a reason the hotel staff wouldn't even acknowledge them when they went to try and discuss terms after the con was over. I was a volunteer several times before, this year I had Been a spotter for a fursuiter named Meep. That's who I'd been waiting for upstairs when the girl came running off the elevator crying, and I asked someone wtf happened, then led them to report this to con staff. Real shit. I got photos on my Google and Dropbox I'd taken from this convention too, to prove it. I go by jakthedrox, I have photos of the hand drawn commissions I did at RF that year as well. Tojo-the-theif and I were also supposed to have a "how to draw your dragon." Panel on Sunday. Me and Tojo had been working together on this since after the con the previous year and were super excited. But they also screwed us on this last second, moving our panel to early Friday and didn't ask or inform either one of us. It was over by the time I even got registered, and Tojo wasn't even arriving till sat... when I went and confronted them on this mistake. They just shrugged "whelp" and did nothing to fix it or compensate us for all the time and costs that went into preparation. Not only did they not apologize, but acted like it was our fault we hadn't known they'd suddenly changed the day and time of our panel. Tojo was so heartbroken. She didn't even come. Real fked up thing to do to your local VIP Artist guest of honor, if you ask me. Tojo-the-theif was one of Bad-Dragon's toy cover artists, and super famous.
