Julie The first written recipe [for macaroni and cheese] seems to be from The Experienced English Housekeeper, by a Mrs. Elizabeth Raffald. Published in 1769, it appears to be the forerunner of our own American classic: bechamel sauce with Cheddar, mixed with macaroni, sprinkled with Parmesan, then baked until bubbly and golden. Another recipe, macaroni a la reine ("Macaroni in the style of the queen"), made from a similar mixture of pasta, cream, and melty cheese (often Gruyere), appeared frequently in British cookery books until relatively recent times. So you m'am are wrong! Mac n cheese is not American. But it is consumed by Americans mostly.

dddd Garlic is not part of the italian cousine. At least not how northen Americans do it. And cheese is uncountable, there is no s at the end even when talking about multiple kind of cheese. And most of the cheese and oil that I can find in the United States are not even imported from Italy they are a sad american imitation.

I wish they would expand more and include interracial couples of more variety like Mexican women and Asian man or Thai woman and South African man..... or etc. like I'm Mexican and my husband is Samoan.... and although we visually look the same we do have completely different cultures. It's hard to mash them up at times but we are really good at compromising.... that would be nice

This past Thanksgiving me and my boyfriend brought to go plates from each family's house. He did not want to eat the dressing from his family's house. He basically admitted that my mother's dressing was better then his aunts dressing. 😄😄😄 But the upside about his family is that dinner actually starts on time ha Ha! Yes two of the stereotypes are very very true!

I honestly think it depends on what you're used to. In black families we're usually heavy with the seasoning so we become accustomed to that. They make think the food tastes good the way it is because that's the way they're used to it tasting but we don't. The same way I like my sweet tea SWEET but when I give it to my wife she's like no it's too sweet. But to me it's perfect. I think what tastes good to you is just what you're accustomed to.

I think interracial friendships, romantic partners are very accepted, from my personal perspective and in the area I live Vancouver BC, where interracial couples and friends are thankfully a very social norm, I have several friends with spouses from different cultures. A challenging situation I hear about from my vegan friends however I am vegan too, is dating people whom are not vegan or vegetarian. The life philosophy of no cruelty to animals is very important to many vegans as well as for health promotion reduced heart disease, cancer, strokes, kidney stones.. People tend to reduce their meat/dairy or become vegan themselves if they are not vegan already when they are in relationship with a vegan I have witnessed this many times hopefully by their own choice verses their partner saying vegan or this relationship is over which is controlling verses unconditional love and acceptance of a person.

Wow a vegan Christian is in I hope a caring, respectful, supportive relationship with an atheist, meat lover. The wife likely believes all life is precious as is created by god, which I do support although I am not Christian I know many Christian's are vegetarian or vegan, this is a very interesting relationship! Opposites do attract!

Comparing veganism to racial things... where do you find the arrogance. You chose to be a vegan, so deal with the consequences of people not conforming to your lifestyle since humans are omnivores.

The human digestive tract is actually much more like a herbivore, hence we have much lower hydrochloric acid in our stomach, very long intestines and no enzymes in our mouths to break down animal proteins like true carnivores and omnivores like dogs do. If humans were designed to eat meat, there would far less heart disease and strokes in people whom eat meat and dairy verses people whom don't. LDL cholesterol is very high in animal products but not in plant based proteins and other plant based foods. LDL cholesterol is the "unhealthy," cholesterol which causes plaque in arteries. Many leading cardiologist are vegan ie. Dr. Kim Williams head of the US College of Cardiology. Simple carbs also damage arteries as they cause insulin to increase and insulin damages the walls or arteries. Respectfully also many vegans believe it is arrogant or lacking in compassion and heart to eat meat as the animals suffer so much, and needlessly as there are is zero need to eat animal products to the contrary it isn't healthy ie. the World Health Organization recently classified processed and non processed meat as carcinogens, and as mentioned animal products do for certain cause plaque in human arteries.

Idk whose dressing she been eating but my mom is also white and from the south and ain't nothing dry or crumbly about here dressing 😋 And she makes the giblet gravy to go with it! Friends that have my moms food for the first time are always surprised. 😂😂 Which is funny to me because my mom and granny throw down just like my black granny and aunties
