One time I said my weakness and quickly proceeded to give it a positive spin. the guy stopped me and said: wait... that's a strength, though. And I said: yes. this is a job interview, that's how it goes. and also, THAT'S good marketing. they laughed. i got the job

Of all the channels I watched in prep for my interviews I think yours was the most helpful. The key really was watching you and how conversational your presentations are. Best advice to job hunters --prepare..relax and be your best self.

Yes! You prepare so you CAN relax. I have bombed interviews because I got caught off guard early on and mentally couldn't move past it and ended up flubbing the easy questions later on in the interview.

My greatest weakness: "I am not the most vocally assertive person, and I tend to err on the side of 'not making waves,' whenever possible, unless something is gravely wrong. However, because I do not complain too much, I find that when I DO speak up, my thoughts are given more credibility." I welcome you, and anybody else, to weigh in on this. Maybe, this is great. Maybe, it's downright terrible. I welcome everybody's feedback on this.

I followed a lot of the steps in your interview process videos and focused on your salary negotiation tips with Austin Belcak. It resulted in $18k more than the initial base salary they offered, extra 2 weeks of vacation, 90% tuition reimbursement/career development, senior title/role, 10% annual bonus. I'm still in disbelief reading my confirmation letter Thanks for all of the value you provide Madeline !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Madeline, when they asked me my weaknesses i tell them my patience, that sometimes i got frustrated easily because of that my lack of patience, and then i tell the story on how i started a new hobby which is painting and sculpting and that improved my tolerance and patience, because paints and clay need time to dry and cure and no matter how hurry or how anxous you are, you have to wait and give the materials time, if you want to success, if not you can ruin your work. So that hobby helped me a lot to be better. Usually a get a good response by the interviewer and also lead to anecdotes and some small talk about the hobby that relax the mood

Thank you so much for putting these videos together and sharing your knowledge. I just completed a 2nd interview today and the strengths and weaknesses questions came up along with many others that you suggested in your other videos. I bombed the first interview and was shocked that I received a second. I felt less anxious and more confident in this interview because I practiced the sample answers and tips you provided. They probably thought they were interviewing a totally different candidate. Thank you again for making these WONDERFUL videos. Fingers crossed that I get the job! :)

Well, it depends, my manager and my team are on the other side of the world, he needs someone here able to resolve all the daily goals and problems without a boss 24/7. We just have one weekly meeting, he gives me tasks and he can trust that I can deal with that without him micromanaging me. And don’t get me wrong, we have a great team, I get along well with them and share projects, but the company is looking with this position someone with independence and autonomy overall.

Hi Madeline, I regularly watch your videos which is very helpful. I have one question for you. I have recently gone through one interview after completing my interview, I got mail from HR about thank you mail for attending interview and says that " As I mentioned, we want to discuss with the team prior to moving forward in the recruiting process. Our Operations Director is currently on holidays, returning next week. We will be in touch early next week to give you an update, after the long weekend!" this statement. I have been asked a variant of this question. What would someone who does not like you say is your greatest weakness? This one is good in my opinion because if you say "there is no one who does not like me you are either lying or not self-aware." The follow-up question was how did/would you address this weakness or some such phrasing.

I'm curious to know what example you gave / how you addressed the question
@HeatherMajors
@HeatherMajors 8 ай бұрын
@@nadiataylor2566 The most common example I give is that I am very rules and regulation focused and it can often be difficult for me to take on a task that is counter to the published guidance. This can annoy people who know there is a valid reason for the request to make an exception to policy. I have had to learn to rephrase how I ask question on this. Instead of "that is not policy" ask for a valid exception or please explain to me why this is authorized in this case. More of an I trust you but need to understand my task vs the appearance of challenging someone's ethics.
