@Jay lol I lengthened with external fixators only as my tibial shafts were naturally slightly curved and wouldn't suit a nail well, so LON was not an option. With frame only, most adults will require wearing them for 2 months per 1 cm lengthened, so after lengthening 6 cm I had to wear the frames an additional 9 months for a total of 1 year. The process had ups and downs, lots of sleepless nights, random muscle contractions that would wake me up after a surge of pain from tightening around the pins, and sometimes sharp pain around a wire or two by the ankle. Things gradually got better though and I could eventually use a walker and finally cruches. It helped that I had a desk job and insurance that let me see a local ortho for followup x-rays that I'd send to Dr Parihar. 6 years later, the only real difference in before and after is that people can see the pinhole scars and sometimes ask about them. Scars can be excised or lightened, but I didn't do either. Most people find them interesting more than anything. No random pains or anything, but the decrease in stamina is certainly there. It's counteracts by strength training but I still notice it's not what it was. It isn't at all painful, but my legs get tired a fair bit faster. In terms of real world effect, I can't run as far as I used to before having to switch to walking or just resting outright.

@@keepcalmandsleepcalm I viewed the first lengthening as a necessity before I could carry on in life without having leg lengthening as a major desire above all else. A femur lengthening to get to 5'10 would be nice, but I see that as a luxury sort of like a new sports car. Cool if I could do it, but not necessary. My social life and the way I see myself has improved to the point where it's hard to find much reward in spending all that time, discomfort and money for additional height.

@@kilokahn9763 Their is two LON method ~ one of them removable after lengthening phase ( the exterior fixator ) while the interior nail remains inside the bone for one year do you meant fixator ?

@@nythennythen6672 If you want LON, then Doctor Parihar will do it for tibia lengthening. The nail is put inside during surgery along with the fixator, and once you are done lengthening he will take the fixators off and leave the nails in, which you can have removed later. He won't do LATN for cosmetic patients (where nail is inserted after lengthening) as the nail has a chance of injuring the newly formed bone.

So guys I emailed the hospital and they told me the cost for precice 2 is around 11lakhs for 1 nail and the cost of stryde is 11lakhs 50thousand rupees for 1 nail and 9 lakh rupees additional for the treatment and surgeon cees. The cost for precice or stryde is high because it is imported from Usa I think and the total might come around 35 lakhs. Hope this helps

Wouldn't there be more stretch and pressure on the ligaments, tendons, and muscles ? Or do they 'grow' in length and breadth to compensate for the lengthened bone ? Tibial lengthening has a more noticeable visual effect and is less expensive. Femur lengthening can get you about an inch more lengthening but is much more expensive and many people don't find it as aesthically pleasing as tibial lengthening.

This dude Victor with cyborg for life . Was a one leg discrepancy patient . He knows nothing about what cosmetic limb lengthening is really all about . He is trying to make money off of his experiment with your life . He never had two legs broken simultaneously. He was always mobile on one leg . He didn’t experience a sway penguin walk because he was mobile . His circumstance was unhealthy prior to surgery so for him any improvement is better then what it was . Being short is not unhealthy . Right now u have healthy legs post surgery , U might have balance issues , blood clots , Walk like a penguin for years or ever , nerve damage ( paralysis ) a lot of a lot of infections . Problems overall . And u would have paid for all of it … Victor had his insurance cover his one leg because it’s medical . So he also didn’t have to deal with medical expenses as part of his recovery and state of mind . Be sure u r aware of what u r getting into . It’s enticing because they promise u a new height . But they don’t promise u . U will walk normal ever again . People recognize u by your gait . Losing your gait for ever is like losing your voice . Use caution . This guy Victor is not telling u the truth . He is behaving as though he went through what u will and he is ok . I will never suggest limb lengthening If you are 5'7 or 5'6 you can use elevator shoes or some extra cousion platform and easily get 5'8 with proper posture. Gain some muscles and you are a good personality don't compere yourself with who is 6 feet tall. Hm if you are less than 5'4 than it make sense

The x-ray and followup costs aren't really expensive at Mangal Anand. Back in 2014, I paid on average 1300 rupees per xray/followup visit to his hospital. At 2 visits a month, that cost me an extra $45 US dollars per month or rather an additional $135 in my 3 months in Mumbai. Complications would probably depend on the type of complication and whether you had to stay in the hospital again for a few days, but he does a good job at anticipating and preventing complications before they happen. Although if you really want 10cm of lengthening, then Dr Parihar isn't the surgeon for you because he won't accept you as a patient if you say you want that much.

@@10cmontibia66 Yeah, with fixators you must stay in Mumbai only during lengthening. Once it's stopped, you can fly back home and send him follow up x rays once a month through a local orthopedist. I did full externals so there was no nails to take out. Wore the frames from June 25, 2014 until June 29, 2015. Got the frames removed at my local Kaiser hospital, which cost me $250 with my insurance.
