Interview with Harini Rangarajan, Greens Candidate for Murrumbidge at upcoming ACT elections

Manpasand RJ Manish had a great pleasure meeting and talking to Harini Rangarajan, Greens party Candidate for Murrumbidge, at the upcoming ACT Canberra elections on 19 Oct 2024.
Harini, 20 year old, is the youngest candidate. She was born in Chennai India, now living in Weston Creek. She is a violinist and a classical singer, deeply involved in cultural activities at the Mawson Temple and wider multicultural community. Studied in Orana Steiner school, she is currently a finance student at the ANU. Growing up in India she witnessed dire economic inequality, natural disasters and poverty, this motivated her to advocate against climate change and to oppose exploitative organisations undermining indigenous traditions in India, issues that she also support in our city.
She alongwith with her party, have a great plan for cost of living; make public transport free for people who need it most; and build homes for people not for profit to make public housing a viable choice for many more Canberrans. She strongly believe that the climate crisis is the most pressing threat to our planet and our people at this moment. It is one that is fuelled by exploitation of the working class at the hands of the greedy elite. In addition, she see a gap in our lawmakers, that they don’t reflect young and diverse voices from the diverse cultural backgrounds that call Canberra home. That drove her to be involved in politics and now to run as one of Greens candidates in Murrumbidgee.
