Both you and Oriental Pearl have inspired me to start learning Japanese! It's so tough for me because I have a learning disability that makes learning other languages really hard due to a short-term memory problem. Watching both of your channels however has given me the courage to take that step. I'm enjoying myself while learning now. Thank you both!

I forgot about her. I know I watched a few of her videos on surprising people with her ability to speak different languages very fluently. Love what she’s wearing because it has an incredible Asian style to it yet looks incredibly modern at the same time. Very stylish and I would think helps her with her confidence knowing she’s blending in with her environment.

I have been watching Oriental Pearl’s channel since few months ago. She is very intelligent in learning languages. Her Mandarin is flawless as native speaker and her Japanese is very fluent as well. Her interactions with Chinese and Japanese people in her videos are very funny. It’s surprising that I can see her in your channel.

"I'm bored. I want to study a new language." How relatable! HAHAHAHAHAHA By the way, learning a foreign language via another foreign language is also called triangulation or language-stacking I've been doing that too. So do my friends who love languages. It's fun. I'm currently learning Japanese with materials in English, German, French, and Spanish (my native language is Indonesian)

I love language learning too and I relate a lot with her. I love her language learning passion. :) I worked hard to learn English (I'm Swedish) and now learning Korean via English and later hope to learn Japanese via Korean because it's easier when languages are more closely related, and I've considered learning Chinese later via either Korean or Japanese after that. My goal is to speak all 3 plus maybe Finnish by the time I'm old. :) 6 languages is my lifetime goal.

Love this interview and going to follow her channel now, too. When I studied in Chile (I'm an American) I hated spending time with my classmates who just spoke English together. Why bother? My host family loved that I had a decent accent but as a bonus I could speak with a gringa accent. They'd show me off to friends at lunch, "demanding" that I speak Spanish with a terrible American accent. haha

I love Oriental Perl so much. She is the kind of foreigner I aspire to be like. One that doesn't stick to her own cultural bubble but want to experience different culture with everything that comes with it. I too am losing slowly my other western friends because we are not having anything in common anymore. I enjoy getting to know my Japanese and Chinese friends and I'm not going to give up studying Japanese until I'm at her level. Congratulations, hope we get to see a lot of videos from the wedding.
