There is an inordinate amount of chatter here on Socialism and communism, it would be wise if people take the time educate themselves on the true concept of each and alas...take some time and LISTEN WELL, Michael Manley was never a communist nor a socialist. in his lifetime he went to great pains to explain his philosophy of Democratic Socialism which is technically an amalgam of socioeconomic empowerment of the masses executed in a democratic framework. This man had the trappings that could have lead him to pursue the usual elite bourgeoisie oppression of the poor and vulnerable among us, yet he choose to sacrifice his own class interest in defense of the downtrodden. I yearn for the day when the masses of Jamaicans literacy and political analytical understanding of what Michael Manley's profound dedication and vision was about for his people and to the very end of his life was a journey of ultimate selflessness to this nation and to the oppressed masses in every corner of the earth.

The whole fact about Cuba at pointing time, that when Jamaica was very back in the early 1900. After the Panama canal they went to Cuba after the canal was finished, even the great George Headley was living there with his parents. Headley was born in Panama country of a Jamaican mother, and a Barbados father. After the works done in Panama, his parents took him to Cuba, but his saying he was learning too much Spanish, although he was born in a Spanish speaking country. His parents sent him to Jamaica to his mother Aunt in RaeTown In Kingston. Also Jamaica is only 70 miles to Cuba,if you go to certain point in Jamaica like in St,Ann. You could go to the Ridge property, and used a binoculars and sees Cuba quite easily. I read in the geography that Westmoreland is the nearest point to Cuba, maybe to a certain areas in Cuba. Because Cuba is 8•5 times bigger than Jamaica, but I know of a fact that. At one time when I was a young boy grew up, when people stowaway from Cuba, they useto end up in Discovery Bay St,Ann. There was a guy who useto be living in a district named Old Folly , also the same areas which classified as Discovery Bay within walking distance. The police always sent for the little man by the name of Claudy Scarlett , otherwise we useto called him. Claudy whitesocks,or miss Madge matress,he was living in Cuba for a while and learned a little Spanish. So he was the translator for the police back in those days,I knew a few living in nearby districts in St, they are from Cuba. Because their parents went there is Batista days, before Fidel Castro overthrow him.At that time it was a democratic country, so what Joshua the Rt Hon Michael Manley was saying he was right as a book, how the hell could you vexed. With your closest neighbor towards you, and you mad with him. Because certain country or countries say so,it is really crazy, and at. The same time as what Manley was saying, that China also other countries were communist too, and. The united States also other countries is trading with them, and the same time you are against Cuba.Joshua is Jamaica best PM ever, Which brought the country to a new level of life for poor people.

Just think if we weren't thinking of just our belly, see the same thing again with Andrew Hollness,is short sighted people like you who'll always sell there own people for fools gold, just remember it was under Manley government Singapore came to Jamaica and do a feasibility study on Jamaican economy and use our model to kick start there economy and look where they are now, while we are still like the greedy dog 🐕 that sees the reflection of the bone it the water and think it was bigger than the one in its mouth.
