I feel bad for Claudia, but her invitation into the coven is by design Santiago and the others have known about her part in the plot to destroy Lestat. They were bidding the time when they would confront her. The ultimate insult was the doll dress. To them, she has two strikes against her, one , by no fault of her own she was made too young. Secondly, is the rule forbidding the demise of another vampire. She is in deep trouble. The series is closer to the Anne Rice books than the film. Lestat warned her about the European vampires. They have no mercy.

Lestat and Armand have something in common: they both stalk Louis. Did anyone else notice how Armand's expression changes as the story is being told about how they met? When he embraces Louis's hand, he quickly looks up at Daniel and then immediately looks down at the floor, almost as if he's sad or lying.

In the books Louie is known for burning buildings down when he is upset, he actually burns the theatre down because of what happened to Claudia but no telling where the series will take it

Memory is a Monster theme they are using for this season was heavy in this episode. Armand's recollection of his meeting with Lestat felt abbreviated when you know how their meeting went down in the book. And introducing Raglan James (the man who talks to Daniel in the sushi bar) is either an Easter Egg (he's a character from Tale of the Body Thief), or it's going to end up being a big plot twist, if you know the story of Raglan, by season's end.

Armand is a fascinating character, and mind you, he was made young, just like Claudia! So of course he will be petty. But than again, I bet you didn't read the books. And in my opinion, if Aramand was played by a white dude, people would be forgiven like they were with Lestat, who was effing horrible to Louis, especially to sweet Claudia. But no, Armand isnthe bad guy, even when, as you see in this episode, Lestat effed up Louis to he point he is breaking.

I just read the Blood and Gold book and it sounds like Marius made him at 17 but was grooming him for a couple years before he made Armand a vampire. Armand's character in the book, kidnapped from his family in Kiev, sold into pedo slavery, Marius buys him and basically grooms him for a while before turning him. Then is kidnapped by Santino, Marius's enemy, to be in the children of darkness cult where he was probably tortured and abused some more to submit to their beliefs. Armand is a complex character. Loved seeing him use his Gifts in this episode.

@@joann3190 didn't read the books?..........hahahahahahaha.....quite wrong ..I bought my first copy of hers in SF in the 70's ..........and I worked at Hamburger Mary's where the story setting was placed in, that was the gay club restaurant location that Louis spoke with Daniel and saw Armand .....Anne wrote about all sexes ages and colors and kinks in all her books for decades ....I recommend all her writing /even the Jesus Christ volumes and the Sleeping Beauty series ,Cry to Heaven, The Witch Chronicles and ,The Feast of All Saints ........I have my opinion about Armand's ego and him being the coven leader

As I said before, Armand is dangerously sexy. Watching Armand and Louis attraction unfold, watching how they fall in love off rip, it’s so cute. The Men in Black, I did not see coming and I’m very curious to see their involvement. Lastly, I feel so bad for Claudia. That girl wants a family soooooo bad, but she is looking for love in ALL the WRONG places. Yeah, her ending is near.

Lestat played Armand by using him to get those powers. It explain time freeze Lestat done on Season 1, so Louis can win poker money. Lestat also had clouding (flying) shown last season. Lestat cheat on his own violinist boo at opera with Armand. He said peace out to Armand by disappearing on him.

That's why Louis and Armand were pretending to not know what was going on as Daniel fumble over his words. they attempted this interview with multiple people and none of them have survived. Daniel is special because he was one of the boys in the picture that's my prediction. I personally think that Armand and Daniel used to mess around in the past. It could have been a situation where Daniel wanted Armand to leave louis for him and it didnt work out. Watching them be affectionate is clearly a trigger for Daniel because Daniel is closeted. I feel like he had his first sexual experience with the both of them and they tossed him to the side. It's clear that Daniel is very bitter and most likely doesn't remember the encounter because when Louie calls him out about meeting at the gay bar Daniel had no recollection. since season 1 Armand and Daniel keep trying to seek each other out in a room they are like magnets to me

There is no 'love' in these stories, maybe between Claudia and Louis to a certain point. Obsession is not love, manipulation is not love, lies aren't love ... Lestat forced Louis in that relationship, emotionally r*ping him again and again. Armand manipulated his way into Louis' pants, yes, Louis was attracted to him at the beginning, but Armand is the reason why Claudia died. The show BABY REINDEER explains very well why certain people are designated 'victims'. Louis is like a magnet for the deranged and unstable leeches around him, he isn't 'empty' like all the other vampires, he is full of emotions ... most of the vampires end up killing themselves or are so bored that they would rather go to sleep like Akasha.

I grew up with Anne Rice, she was my neighbor. All my novels are signed copies and read all her novels. I want to clue everyone into the Truth. I asked you to read “The Vampire Lestat” and “The Tale of the Bodythief” to know Lestat. This series is a loosely 🌈 interpretation of Anne’s novels. I see this series as a Sole interpretation of the novels. I Love it but read the novels for the Truth. PS… There are No Blk or Indian people in the novels.

I am 100% convinced that Armands Redemption is going to be the sympathy he feels for Daniel. Something big happened between the two of them before and Armand keeps stepping in to protect him. He keeps the dialogue going between the two of them, making him comfortable when Louis pushes back. But Armand definitely did something very bad in the past and Daniel is going to be the only person who stands by him when everything implodes. (Plus it is not a mistake that the detail they share Armand pulled from Daniel's past and spit back out to him was that he stole his father's playboys and sold them. What kind of red-blooded boy steals the Playboys and immediately thinks "I should get these to somebody else?" I'll tell you what kind... ) Map has forks in the road but ALL ROADS are leading to Rome

It's interesting that they did that, but Ragland was part of The Talamasca. So maybe his early appearance is setting things up for that storyline later down the road. But given who Ragland is, and what happened between him and Lestat, now makes me wonder if they don't have something of a twist in mind by season's end.

True, they were white in the book, but this concept isn't farfetched for Anne Rice's work. She was known for diving deep into Louisiana culture and even highlighting people of color. Feast of All Saints is great example of this. In my opinion it doesn't take away from the storytelling one bit.

I find it funny how people forgive, praise and even think it's "hot" when Lestat abuse Claudia and Louis in season one. But with Armand, who was a slave, tortured, abuse, and was kidnapped to be in this religious cult, and mind you for those who didnt read the books, and was very young when he got turned, people all of a sudden is annoyed and thinks he is mean. Meanwhile, people who read the books, love Armand and he is he same in the books too! I bet if Armand was played by a white actor, people wouldn't be harsh like they weren't with Lestat, which I hate him, but in this episode I love him because he seemed accurate to the book. In love my chaotic, scary Armand. He is a fascinating character and fan favorite, for those who read the books! Assad did so wonderful and he is gorgeous!

Armand in books was of Slavic origin and his name was Andrei. He was victim of slave trade perpetuated by Ottoman Empire. Armand in the show looks like he was part of Slavic slave trade as slave master🤣 There is no point to even refer to books in this case. Should we pretend that Armand in the show is somehow Ukrainian/Russian?? That change is actually quite insulting because victim of Slavic slave trade was switched with someone who looks Arabic and Arabs were among those who were selling Slavic people... It would be great to actually have a Slavic person playing Armand since Slavs were killed in millions during WWII for being "sub-humans" and "lower-race"...

It's kinda looks like race swap is great when so called "white" character is swapped. In this case depth to the story would be added by keeping original ethnicity of the character. Banderas was even worse selection as Armand. Both of those cannot pass as teenager nor remotely Slavic. More Slavs than Romani where killed during WWII, so I don't know what's that suppose to mean? I was pretty fine with race swapping of Claudia and Louis, but swapping someone from Slavic ethnic background is lowkey racist. The only thing that bothers me about current Claudia is that she is looking as grown up woman, so I don't know what producers where thinking. The plot point is still revolving around the topic of Claudia being trapped in child body, yet the actress looks like in her twenties. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why the hidden her age... Plus Anne Rice wasn't working on AMC series, so don't spread lies. It's easy to google. She and her son wanted to sell story to Hulu, her son wrote first episode based on "Vampire Lestat". AMC got the rights and Chris script was rejected. I don't know why you are saying than Anne Rice was fine with the changes?? Based on wishful thinking?
