I've also had a blast playing the game these past 20+ years, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Can't say I've really made any friends from it, but I still have many good memories with friends I got to play it along with me. I may not do much with pvp, but still enjoy going back to play the campaigns and enjoying the cutscenes and just losing myself in the music.

I loved Spartan Ops so much, I wish they kept Spartan Ops going into future games. It was so ahead of its time as a concept. Spartan Thorn became one of my favorite Halo characters very fast. I wish he was in more. Apparently he was intended to be in H5 as a member of Osiris and I wish that was real.

Also just to point it out since it came up again, like I did on the last video, the Halo rings do not destroy the Flood, they destroy the Flood's *food* to starve them of Biomass and prevent the formation of a Gravemind. The Flood themselves are just some like... spores, basically. There's really nothing you could do to wipe them out, so you have to essentially cut off their supply lines.

This was quite the ride of a series. So much research, so much info. Even good story info for me as well because I never played past 4 (never got an Xbox One). Before watching through this, I had picked up the MCC in the Steam Sale just this past week, though in the middle of another game so haven’t fully jumped in. This video, though, convinced me to pick up at least the free multiplayer for Infinite and man did I have a blast last night in Firefight (I prefer PvE over PvP). Especially moving around with the grapple and being able to be more precise with the mini zoom that’s like aiming down the sights, a feature I often wondered why it wasn’t really a thing before.

The fact that Cortana was killed off in a cutscene, OFFSCREEN, while Chief was still asleep is a story crime with very few equals. The fact that they took out such a character that is arguably as well known as the main protagonist himself, off screen in a timeskip, is just... Bad. There's really nothing else to say for it. It's bad.

A few minor nitpicks: Spartan Ops was only weekly for the back half of the episodes. The first 6 episodes were on the 2nd game disc which was also the Multiplayer disc and iirc they required installing to the hard drive to access, and the back half required downloading from Xbox live meaning players without internet like myself missed out at the time. MCC didn't release at 60fps. That was only added when the FPS Boost program & the free Series X/S upgrades for some Xbox One games was revealed in 2021. MCC CE originally had the same skulls as the 360 version but also had the Pre-Order bonus skull Grunt Funeral built in, and later on received more in an update, including adding Iron to the LASO Playlist because it wasn't in there originally. Halo 2 Anniversary's Terminals were all streamed through the now defunct Halo Channel Xbox app, so playing now shows you nothing as it fails to launch. CE's terminals also got moved over so those are also dead. The Halo 5 setup cutscene doesn't just have the Arbiter either, the other Elite is the Shipmaster from Halo 2 and 3. Halo 2 also got new skulls added, and even got a few bonus skulls that were unlocked for doing certain things, like one that makes Hunters stronger and more aggressive that you got for watching Nightfall on the Halo Channel, which was a premium release that you had to get as a Serial code included with the copy of MCC or buy on the Xbox store iirc. Also just an additional point about Nightfall but the Lekgolo worms aren't just what makes up the hunters, they are also the Scarabs too, hence them both having the green plasma beam weapon.

As much as I trash Halo 5, I think it’s probably the one I got the “best” at in the multiplayer sector. I wasn’t really that good, I’ve always been a campaign fan, but I got really into it. I think what the biggest problem with 343 is that they're just Too scared to commit to an Idea. They don't really have a trilogy Planned. The bungie Halo games were supposed to be a duology. 3 only exists because their Plan for Halo 2 had to be Split into 2. and ODST and reach were made because Bungie had to earn their freedom. But 343 a studio SPECIFICALLY MADE to Continue Halo Doesn't really have a Plan for a trilogy. Halo 4 Halo 5 AND Halo Infinite Are alll "the beginning" of a story. Halo 4 Beginning the Forerunner arc, Halo 5 is the Beginning of the Cortana Villain arc and now Halo Infinite is the Beginning of the Endless arc(i guess?). it's been over 10 years since 343 took Over halo But for some reason They just can't seem to get past act 1 of the Story. Yet they STILL want us to act like This is their First attempt at bringing Back halo After Bungie and that we should Give them a chance to Prove themselves.

I'm 32 and I have played all the games except infinite. The way Halo 5's story played out really put me off. But since Halo has been such an important part of my life I WANTED to buy and play this game. But I just decided not to. The main reason was I tried so effing hard to buy the special edition Xbox it wasn't even funny. I took days off work, drove hundreds of miles to different towns because they might be getting some( I live in a mostly rural area) but I simply couldn't get one and I refuse to pay scalpers. Additionally it was literally impossible to buy an xbox period. But once I saw that it was open world WOTHOUT CO-OP it really just didn't interest me anymore idk why. So I just moved over to PC and me and all my friends just play MCC instead. I know the global shut down messed with Xbox release. But holy cow I think this game was not as successful as it could of been is because this whole game didn't get the time that it really needed honestly couple that with hard to find xbox systems and it put a lot of people off. The TV show is complete garbage too. Why does the story always have to be changed🙄 can tell 100% the budget was low

I will die on the hill that Halo should've never been a "open world", the bungie trilogy were Halo games first just with added exploration Halo isn't LoZ, or Fallout, I'm sick of devs trying to make games open world that it shouldn't be Infinite didn't feel like old school Halo...the "boss fights" as well as non-linear missions were stupid additions, & don't get me started with the ridiculous "fast travel" feature 😒😒 Fire everyone in 343 they don't deserve Halo

Everyone complains about Halo 5’s marketing, but never complain about the first reveal for Infinite which was practically nothing like the game. And aside from the textures up close, everything looked very play-doh-esque with awful rigging on the animals and rubbery plastic for the soldiers and Chief. That was my first big red flag about Infinite that was overlooked by everyone else Infinite was such a drastic “course correct” it’s whiplash inducing and failed to deliver on all the promise set up by 5 and Wars 2 and delivered and excessively weak, repetitive, and bland game that looked worse than it did before

The forerunner series is just a mess and tbh I don't really blame 343 because they do have so much incredible talent. I do blame Microsoft and its insane corporate hiring practices. As a project lead I can’t imagine having to retrain a new person every 13-18 months all because Microsoft didn't want to pay benefits. Like bro is a trillion dollar company and bought Activision for nearly $69 billion. And it honestly seems explains why Microsofts products are the way they are.

Does Halo 5's multi-player trailer have a nod to Red vs Blue? ( A red team fighting blue team) I know that Red has a close relationship with Bungie, to the point that they have small easter eggs in Halo 3 and 4. Then again, it could be a coincidence and I'm just assuming things.
