An unappreciated, little known gem. How did this not get to be a hit? Beautiful, haunting, tinged with sadness and a nostalgic feel, this is a lovely piece of instrumental music. It stands up on its own, so therefore as an inclusion in the Bond film, it's superb. The vocal version by Chrissie Hynde is excellent too, with a fine sensitive rendering of the lyrics.

Beautiful instrumental version of The Pretenders' If There was a Man, the classic ending song of the classic 007 movie The Living Daylights which just so happens to be both my all-time favorite 007 song & 007 film :) These pictures of Vienna are simply divine although they don't seem to feature the lavish palace-like building & gorgeous fountain that were featured at the end of the film. I wish I could visit Vienna 1 day :)

I agree wholeheartedly with the individual who said that John Barry knew how to write music for women! Although "If There Was A Man" was written by Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders, Barry's magnificent arrangement of that superb love song and the gorgeously beautiful "Into Vienna" instrumental version of the Chrissie Hynde song instantly makes you visualize in your mind the magnificent beauty of women!
