I can totally understand this message. I was emotionally hurt by my parents my whole childhood. I grew up bitter, angry, and filled with rage. I turned away from God and society, fell into alcohol and drugs, and basically screwed up my whole life. Only now, at over 50 years old, have I begged the Lord for help and He has welcomed me home. Every day is a struggle but with Jesus' help, I'm very slowly recovering. Praise God for His mercy.

Dave, I understand some what. I have a mother-in-law of 32 years who has the Jezebel spirit on her. I have endured her emotional abuse from the get-go! My husband and I were studying why the Baptist church has so many splits. We discovered the Jezebel spirit is the reason, my husband was like OMG that is my mom. The Holy Spirit then showed us how the Jezebel spirit comes on a person. Usually, it's by rejection by one parent, and the other is overbearing. She very rarely speaks of her childhood e cept for bragging about how rebellious she was. One of my gifts, God gave me is Love. I recently found bitterness and hardening of my heart creeping up in my life. I am choosing today to forgive her. I have also chosen to stay away from her. She is totally selfish and believes only her feelings matter. She is a bitter old woman now who will not hear the truth. She is the last person in this word I want to be like. I know Christ died for her, too. So, I must pray for the Truth to be revealed to her, and she repents. I think of the Scripture that says; Not all who say Lord, Lord will enter the gates of Heaven, but only those who are doing the will of the Father. Matthew 7:21

I hope this is a game changer for me. Sometimes I feel like the makeup and nice cloths is so people don’t see the real me because I’ve had a sin filled life searching for love in all the wrong people. My identical twin died a bit after birth. It was until this message and I journaled all the hurts in my life that I busted out in tears in mourning for her lost. It’s only natural for 9 months 24 hours a day we shared everything. I now believe I have finally come to terms with that deep grief and missing piece. All the pain, drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, 3 failed marriages. Perhaps the prayer of releasing it all and welcomes fresh forgiveness and cleansing I can move on in Gods will for my life. If you’ve read this so far please say a prayer me that I receive Gods will upon my life, recognize it and surrender all unto Him as a true and faithful servant. I surrender all of my heartache, childhood trauma, setbacks and those deep wounds to you Lord Jesus because only you can heal and deliver me from all of that. I renounce all feelings of rejection, abandonment, anger, sadness and confusion along with often feeling misjudged and misunderstood and surrender them to you Lord Jesus. I forgive each and every single person for every single bad thing they did to me and every bad word they ever spoke to me and/over me. Today I surrender and release to you Lord Jesus. Amen 🙏🏻🕊️

This is probably one of the most powerful sermons anyone could listen to in order to understand how past hurts can keep us frozen as the good doctor describes. As Mr Stanley says, you just can't force yourself to be healed; but from experience, the release of emotions through crying and weeping is very powerful in addressing past hurts. You always feel better after a good cry is so true. 😪 Then, hopefully, the next day, you'll be a little more peaceful and more reflective. 😊

I am struggling with my walk as a Christian with an unforgiving spirit, but after watching this sermon, I'm doing my absolute best to apply what Dr. Stanley has said. I am currently angry at my estranged wife for many vile, vicious things she has told me recently through text messages. She was living in the flesh at those moments when she said it. This is such a powerful message. I know all about being hurt, but with a lot of prayer, and I really mean a lot of prayer, God truly got me through it. It took me a really long time to just let it go. But my family, my loving family, my daughter my son, my loving sister and my wonderful parent's along with my pastor got me through this. I finally let it go. And when the memories of it try to creep in. I rebuke it in the name of Jesus Christ. Forgiveness is for us not them. When we finally forgive. God will forgive us when we do something wrong.

Wow... I am so sorry Dr. Wayne ... what a terrible thing to have to go through. That does sound really horrific. I am truly sorry and I pray right now that God will help you to heal this hurt with His strength. I pray God will do an extreme intervention in your life just as you do for others who need help. Please pray for me also. I lost my husband last month tragically and it has been the most horrific time of my whole life. The hurt is beyond any words. God bless you.

I haven't listened to it yet, but I am getting ready to. I just wanted to pray over some of the comments before I do listen. I am going through a lot of hurt, some caused by my parents, siblings, and people I know that I thought were friends, a broken yet wrong type of relationship, and myself too. I feel like I let God down, but here on earth, I let me down. I have never tried to wrong anyone at any time. Knowingly anyway! This hurt I am experiencing only God can heal! I pray that by listening to this sermon, I experience peace and forgiveness(for myself & others), restoration, a clean heart, and for God to renew a right spirit in me. It's time for all who ask to be set free from the struggles and things that hold or have held us captive. I love the Lord and will do what it takes, so help me God to bring You glory.
