I'm working on a new video project and was exploring the possibility of using Animate or After Effects to add some magic to it and I'm becoming more and more convinced I should give learning Animate a shot hahah. I used Flash way back in the day and the software seems to have changed a lot but if I could do it then, why not now? Thanks so much for boosting my confidence and the pro tips!! :')

How easy do you think it would be to do a Silent Movie-esque intro? The text slides specifically, with some bobbing/a line creeping up the screen.

I love all the animated skits I have seen in your episodes! After Effects is a great tool for animation, and I often use it to amplify the animations I make in Animate/Flash. Animate is my go-to for character animation, I feel like I can get a lot more done in less time (especially because I don't have to wait for anything to pre-render). It's a great tool and pretty easy to use compared to a lot of similar programs out there.

How did you get the embedded animations to work for your character's head? I tried to do the same thing and it didn't work and just animated the frames in Scene 1. The animations within a symbol didn't do anything at all
@goopyhead4 жыл бұрын
do you have the symbol set to graphic
@davideostudio26644 жыл бұрын
Timmy In a Toilet Yeah, I just found out about that. I’m all good on that. The things is symbols set as movie clips won’t animate until they’re rendered

I'm curios if you use another program to make your model sheets, or do you do all your drawing in Animate and convert each item on the sheet to a graphic symbol?
@Chitchadshow7 жыл бұрын
Almost all the work was done inside of Adobe Animate. The drawing I sometimes do by hand or in Photoshop but then do the clean linework and final models inside of Animate.

Animate is also one of the best drawing programs. Used to be Flash which actually started off as a drawing program at the very beginning. It's pretty much a lightweight version of Adobe Illustrator that you can also animate in. Saves a lot of time on going back and forth between illustrator and an animation program.
@mauriciocebada28635 жыл бұрын
Amazing project, congratulations, quick question, what is the difference between Adobe Animate and Character Animator
@randygerson9115 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong here, but as I understand it, Animate is more for rigging and is pretty specifically a tween based program. The benefit of this is that if the animation you are making is in an appropriate style, it can really streamline some of the more mundane tasks. Animate is basically flash, which allows for the creation of just about any style of animation.

Isn't it illegal to own a chinchilla?
@Chitchadshow7 жыл бұрын
No, as far as I know they are legal in all states. If they were illegal, than the Petsmarts here in Arizona would have a serious problem, haha. You might be thinking of hedgehogs or other exotic animals that are illegal in some states or require a license to own.
