We are excited to bring the sound of one of the most recorded workstations to our latest, with M1 for Nautilus.
The introduction of the Korg M1 in 1988 represented a seismic shift in music production. As one of the most recorded workstations of all time, its sound is iconic - whether powering the music scene of the late 80s and 90s or featuring in Beyonce’s 2022 “love letter to the Korg M1” single “Break My Soul”.

Marvelous!!! 👍👍👍 When I first tried the M1 at the music store the year it came out, and played the 00 "Universe" patch, I couldn't believe it... it was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard. I still love the M1 to this day. But maybe it's time to sell the M1, now, and since it's perfectly reproduced... get the Nautilus! 🙃

The M1 really is an incredible machine. I still remember when a friend brought it to school and played it and I was completely blown away by the sound.

It is staggering to think that less than 10 years before this, synths were in many ways quite basic, but the M1 was a quantum leap in technology. Also amazing that sounds back then have not been bettered by way of iconically recognisable. That piano will always be the House piano sound.

Terrific - I loved my M1 - I wanted one ever since I first played one when they launched. The octave bass patch and the drum sounds were fantastic - I recorded a whole album in the late 90s using the M1 for all of the rhythm, bass and backing tracks, just over-dubbing Rhodes piano, vocals, and an Arp Axxe. Tremendously versatile machine.

Excellent performance. The Korg 01 / wfd is a flagship of Korg's know-how. Why don't you do the same with the programs and combinations of the excellent 01/wfd? If the programs and combinations of the M1 are currently there, it is possible to do it also with the 01/wfd I suppose? It would be a gift from Korg. It would definitely add extra value to the Nautilus. Legendary machines integrated into a current machine.

I like how the Nautilus has less buttons. And the M1 reminds me of the early 90s. Unfortunately some producers nowadays don't use keyboards like this They'd rather use just DAWs

The Korg M1 also was my first synth I ever owned. ❤ Bought it 1988 but unfortunatelly it was lost in war 1991 (Croatia). Later, I had X3 and I30. Then I owned T1, T3 and now has Genos. My friend who bought DX7 when I bought M1, after that passed from Yamaha and now is playing on PA5X. :-)

An M1 with a 480 ppq sequencer! Finally! As a former owner in the late eighties, I think I could hear the chipset groaning with some of my sequences! Having pulled out all the stops to afford an M1, it was pretty much all I could afford and boy did its sequencer feel the strain - almost as much as those round buttons!!!

nice work guys and a great video demo! appreciate you releasing for free. are you recreating all the m1 sounds using original samples and nautilus engine, (sounds quite painstaking) or is there a version of the m1 legacy engine in here? thanks again on behalf of the nautilus community!

This is great! I can't wait to load this up. Can the same be done for 01/w sounds? I sold my old 01/w Pro to get the Nautilus. Absolutely no regrets, but it would be nice to have those 01/w sounds on board. In fact, has Korg released ANY 01/w software products? I see over a dozen software versions of classic digital synths, including the Wavestate, M1, Prophecy, and Triton - all relative contemporaries of the 01/w - but no love for the 01/w? Korg, please do something about this. I know the M1 is iconic, but the 01/w was a fantastic (and successful) workstation in it's own right, and I'm sure there are lots of peeps out there who would love to see some support for it. Having said that, thank you for this release, and keep up the amazing work!
