Wait wait wait wait....😮🙀🤯so are you saying that with this single barrel shifting, you can alter a traditional Bflat clarinet tuned to the key of A, C, Eflat etc??????? I am blown away or is this must be a joke?? Wow!!!! I assume it's physic...im elongating the length of the sound frequency wave generated by the slight variations of the barrel movements. There must be something inside the barrel that shortens and lengthens the Bflat you are playing because I must have one of these like yesterday!! Wow!!!! You have totally changed the idea and total music arrangement and instrumentation in the entire orchestra! I am amazed ❤❤❤❤

Ngl this is actually kind of a possible idea, i mean you couldn’t do bass and Eb would be a pretty big jump, but you might be able to switch between Bb, A, Ab, C, and maybe D

It's not possible. The spaces between each hold need to be adjusted to make a clarinet play in a different key and in tune. You can try this yourself by 'stretching' your Bb clarinet by pulling all the joints as far as they'll go and still keep the clarinet together. You'll be able to play a low E and get a concert C# just like a clarinet in A, but try playing a melody and they entire instrument is out of tube with itself - a octave is not longer an octave!
