For the most part, the offensive use of lethal force is reactive. An individual who works in compressed environments will often work initially from reactive to competitive state of interaction, as he needs to identify, see better, etc. Being able to perform out of the position you find yourself in, rather than the one you wish or plan to be at is probably the most important, neglected aspect when it comes down to the development of SOPs, as the human mind is often leaning towards anticipated success and proactivity, rather than the opposite.
Extracting angles is also a human behavior compliant method, as any individual will flinch -away- from any sudden threat or unknown that appears all the sudden, and in short distance. Same applies towards loud explosions or the sound of a gunshot. Since EA already conditioned the individual to such occurrence of “withdrawal”, all it takes for the individual is the instinctive “push”.
One of the most consist occurrence we have seen in the real world, as well as FOF scenarios, were situations of which the individual use of the angles was disrupted by the threat interaction with geometry. important training phases in our CQB courses before conducting any force on force is practicing and understanding the realistic relations of extracting angles and especially the mechanics of it. Extracting angles can be used for reaction to sudden mobile threat, stoppages, callouts, self-extract, etc.
Since EA is forced due to reaction based constellation of events, Once understood, the individual survival chances are dramatically increased, and occasionally allow the individual to turn the tide and regain proactivity.

Isn't Tomer's stuff bad? Like all playing peek a boo with angles, overexposure?

Sounds hard when a team is behind you expecting to press through.

That's why you train this solo, and with your team, you get used to this

Angular adjustment is made for clearing from the outside or barricade shooting. Not dynamic with a train pushing you into the room.

I dont understand, do we fix the position on 90 or reverse as necessary to stay covered? Thanks

pretty sure he was saying that its best to stay covered. if the guy fixed on 90 then he lost cover and the other guy might be able to quick draw on him etc

Replace those sim pistols with actual service-weapon calibre pistols, and "keeping cover" becomes mostly irrelevant since indoor walls aren't cover, they are concealment. Playing peek-a-boo with drywall seems like a very swift way to eat a couple rounds.

Concealment often works as cover because the bad guys are dumb enough not to shoot through it. At least, that's what I've heard.

Would you rather have the guy see exactly where he can shoot you or have him guess? I'll take the concealment ty
