I experimented with my selfmade pulse generator prototypes and I must say that it seems that shorter pulses (up to 60 µs) are more stimulating motor neurons while having less effects on sensor neurons. Longer pulses (1 - 50 ms) seem to work the other way around.

Regarding Malignancy is contraindication . is it also contraindicated if the malignancy place far from the treated body part? like you have malignancy on back but you treat the legs with electrotherapy

Is it possible person that should excercise dorsal flexion and CAN make on his own dorsal flexion through the FES/NMES to get excessive eversion or inversion all the time?We try all possible solution,all settings,spots,and all sizes of electrodes.What can be the problem?

When muscles are confined to small compartments such as in the leg it can be very difficulty to isolate one particular muscle. Keep in mind the tibialis anterior (the primary muscle that does dorsiflexion) also does inversion. If you are trying to get pure dorsiflexion you might need to also stimulate evertor muscles at the same time. We hope that is helpful and answers your question. Thank you for supporting our channel.

Is acute inflammation case contraindication for electrotherapy? For knee bursitis, which electrotherapy current do you use?
@physicaltherapyeducationso4585
@physicaltherapyeducationso4585 Ай бұрын
There are different electrotherapy protocols depending on what your clinical goal is. Some are for pain control, some for edema and some for neuromuscular reeducation. Which you choose will vary quite a bit based on the specifics of particular person and diagnosis. Generally acute inflammation is not necessarily a contraindication for certain electrotherapy protocols. We hope that is helpful.

@@physicaltherapyeducationso4585 Thanks. which tissue damage do we get if we apply more current? Which diseases can we treat by making tissue healing using electrotherapy? does electrotherapy has side effect of edema? can we apply electrotherapy for pain management or as you said for healing on partial or full thickness tendon tears? can we apply electrotherapy on damaged or torn knee meniscus? can the electrotherapy itself cause tendon /meniscus /ligament tears? Thanks

Thank you for your questions. We provide the videos for educational purposes, however it is not possible to comment on any specific treatment protocol because each individual person has different circumstances that would affect any clinical decisions.

Did we harness electricity thousands of years ago?
@physicaltherapyeducationso4585

We wouldn't say we harnessed it, however there are beliefs that they used the electric shocks from a torpedo fish (similar to an electric eel) around 2500 B.C. to treat pain.
