I have never had the back of the knees wear out on my Target bought wranglers or Levi’s. I washed them often and indiscriminately. I am building up a collection of Brave Star jeans, and will wash them less often in woolite dark... but there’s no way I am going months without washing. I bought brave star for the quality, the fact that they are %100 domesticity made, and because no foreign sweat shops run by large corporations are involved. I don’t care so much about fades. I hope they don’t fade much at all. I do care about how denim molds to fit me over time. That is awesome.

What I've learnt recently from trial and error is that soaking them before you start wearing them is a great idea as then you're stretching them out from being shrunk not shrinking them after being worn for six months or whatever and then when I do come to wash them I get minimal shrinkage. Also when I haven't soaked them before wearing them, after six months the crotch blew out, which I then repaired myself by hand darning with incredibly strong thread, but obviously holes aren't great in the crotch area as they can lead to huge rips down the leg which are much harder to repair. so repair when there is a small hole or before a hole develops reinforce the crotch area!

I think you are right on soaking them before wearing, the backs of my knees and crotch often show early stress... I think I will soak to remove starch as soon as i get my next new pair of jeans, then soak every three months (cold water, no detergent)

So I'm confused, maybe you can help. I bought J Brand raw denim in 2 sizes. Do I keep the larger size because they'll shrink when I soak them or the smaller size because they'll stretch when I wear them?

My first pair of raw jeans were the Unbranded 301. They were nice jeans good dye, but the low was a bit too much for me. Definitely a good introduction kean though. Nice vids.

@@DevonReviewer Hi there. Came back to this vid after watching your review of the golden fox chukka boot. So I tried APC, then a brand called Sage. Gustin were my last pair of selvedge made in USA. Have recently sold those and I all I wear are LEE. I am working on breaking in a pair of 501's shrink to now though funny how I changed.

Hi if my new raw jeans feel snug but I can button them comfortably will they stretch? I’m talking about the Edwin Eds collection that they still sell on denimio. I’m afraid to squat in them in case I decide to return them lol

the only denim thats good for my money (affordable) is Unbranded, Gap, Gustin and bravestar (Gustin and bravestar uses Cone Mills USA) i would love to try the ironheart or other expensive ones, one day

I like Unbranded, although I thought the pockets were a little shallow, and the rise a little short. I would like to try Gustin, the prices are good but once shipping to the UK is taken into account they are not super cheap. I figure at least one expensive pair of Japanese made jeans is needed on this journey!

I'm not sure if you have or not but you should really look into wrangler cowboy cut jeans such as the 13mwz. They have been great to me and are far superior to Levi's and are much cheaper. Also they are acually American made denim.

I must admit those are a great price for fairly heavy denim (14oz). Not sure if its just my computer by I think the colour looks a bit light. I will keep an eye out for some in person!

what about fading in relation to sanforized or unsanforized denim? does one fade faster or with more contrast then the other based on that? and what about one washed or home soaked, does that make it so the fading isn't as dramatic?

The chinos aren’t jeans, jeans have a weave that’s different from chino, the unbranded chinos are just in a traditional jeans pattern

Hey i need an advice on raw denim. It very difficult to get selvedge raw denim in India, i did find one or two jeans but they were not my size they were one larger. With denim bcz you want it to stretch not shrink so i believe they are no a go. Now for my question. Although I can't find 100% cotton raw denim jeans i did find quite a few from good brands selling them but they all had 2% elastine. Should I buy ones with 2% elastine or try harder to find 100% cotton or maybe get a pair stitched although it will be quite a hastle?
@DevonReviewer
@DevonReviewer 3 жыл бұрын
Is buying internationally an option? Most places will ship internationally, possibly denimio? I honestly do not think 2% elastine will quite get you the experience you want, it won't have the right weight and is designed for comfort... check out Unbranded they seem a good price?

@@DevonReviewer thanks for the advise but i finally found a pair made in India by a small manufacturers "Mr Bowerbird" that had better quality than most Levi's. Though after your recommendation i did check out the unbranded they looked good and i ended up buying a Jacket from them with 16USD shipping fees. Btw i bought my Jean pair for just around 20USD on discount and applying coupon.
