I feel lucky that I found this channel. I am new into 3d modeling and I have been learning a lot from you. Your way of teaching by explaining in detail and of course, the funny sound effects that you make like "wee", " pew", "ting", "pichu" makes its even more interesting. 😀

Hi. Question: I'm using a desktop globe as my test model. It's got four legs, and some circular pieces that support the sphere. I gave the entire globe a dirty steel surface, and the globe sphere itself I wanted to give a dirty or a tarnished gold. So, I followed your directions in the segment about polygon selection / texturing, and hit the sphere piece with a gold surface. Then, I wanted to dirty it up. When I gave the gold material a black mask, and then applied a generator, the polygon selection tool disappeared, and the entire model became gold. What happened??!!?? I went through this several times to make sure I didn't make a mistake. Thanks.

Hey, when you drew on the model in the previous video or filled faces in this video it always applied the changes symmetrically. Is this the default behaviour of substance or does it have to do with how the UVs had been layed out or something else?

It takes some practice! Think of it like layers, and then turn off the elements you don't need (height/nrml/so on). Another video is coming up, so hopefully it will help clear things up. You got this!!
