The Loomis Head that I’ve taught so far shows you all the guidelines to draw heads proportionally. It’s incredibly helpful, but you don’t have to follow it line by line once you get good at drawing the average head. This video will show you how I approach drawing heads and mapping out the facial features in a more intuitive way.

Used to think that Proko was over exaggerating the importance of anatomy when I first started drawing last year at 17, but now that I’m a year into drawing, I see that I was foolish to think anatomy, construction, patience, and many other factors were not important when it came to drawing. You’re doing good to this world Stan by showing artist all around the world what drawing is all about. Thank You

I've received a bfa from an art institution here in America and never was taught these incredibly useful and practical advice. One thing about drawing that I find most pleasurable is how inexhaustible it really is; you never reach a satisfactory point, in other words, you always find something new to learn and a skill is never completely honed. I always wondered how artists commit their life to their practice even to old age and now I'm beginning to understand, it's essentially a positive obsession. William Blake, William Kentridge, Agnes Martin, Jean Giraud Moebius, Michaelangelo, all visionaries who inspire me to make it my life.

what i find amazing about all this is that i only saw the first part without watchin pt 2 and 3 and it felt like every other tutorial, still not understanding why all these guideline exist, why my art looks so bland to everyone else's but when i saw pt 2 and 3 i realised how all of this truly isn't a hard and fast rule and that the entire point is to bend them to fit with what you want to draw. you like that person's hair? you can focus on it! all as long as you understand what's underneath like that the shape of their head might also make their hair look cooler than having an average head and whatnot

this genuinely helped, like as someone who started drawing with a cartoony chibish artstyle for as long as i can remember the proportions i'm use to are much more squished. this, plus the other two facial anatomy videos actually helped me form faces better lool

When he was drawing the Lucy Liu features with the reference image side by side with his work in progress, I diverged my eyes in such a way that both images come together and oh my God, the edges are spot on. I would love to watch all his other videos new and old. I have so far watched about 10 of his videos.
