Whenever I hit a forehand slice I hear Nik’s voice - “OH NO, THE SLICE” 😊

This video changed my life Nick. I use the footwork patterns all the time now and look much more balanced. I taught my 11 year old son this and it has been helping him get to balls he previously struggled to hit. Hopefully you can post the high two handed back video since I’m waiting for that one

Glad to hear it. High two-handed backhand coming soon…

Thanks for the great advice in this video. Many years ago when I played competitively I found that good players would figure out that they could hit me high-bouncing backhands over and over. I couldn't get power on my returns, and if they kept hitting them to me I would eventually give them a short ball they could attack. So, as you might expect, I'd love to see a "high backhand on the run" - and also better understand how to get more power on those shots.

Great video. The main underlying principle behind any footwork is to maximize your momentum into your tennis swing and ultimately your racquet which makes contact with the ball. The smell test on whether you're doing it right is if you can feel that momentum going into the shot or not. If not, something in the footwork is out of sync.

Thanks for the lesson Nik! One observation from the side view (when she had to hit a BH first)….Karla seemed late in switching to a FH grip. Was more obvious in first round, she was “stuck” in continental grip too long and forced to slice. But she definitely improved after the progressions!
@IntuitiveTennis2 ай бұрын
She did commit too early on those FH slices

Nik great video. Do you teach forehand and backhand footwork separately? Obviously more complicated locked in with both hands with a 2HBH or even a 1HBH, as opposed to the student’s FH
@IntuitiveTennis2 ай бұрын
Less complex especially on 1-H bh
@user-jb2vo6qi4h2 ай бұрын
I need proof. lol. Karla was instinctively hitting off right foot and landing on right foot at the baseline at the start of the video.

I find the running forehand more difficult than the running 2hbh.

I actually feel that the front leg first is useful as you can hit good angle cc while running whereas the back leg methods is very hard to do.

When hitting this shot off the right foot wide I try to be conscious of pointing the toe of that foot out so as not to roll the ankle.
