disclaimer: this video is an opinion and in no way should be construed as statements of fact. Scams, bad business opportunities, and fake gurus are subjective terms that mean different things to different people. I think someone who promises $100K/month for an upfront fee of $2K is a scam. Others would call it the "opportunity of a lifetime."

I feel like I just had a throwback to like 2012. In Denmark we had a laughing gas epidemic in like 2012 - 2015 something like that. The exact way they got around laws of drugs was exactly like this. Saying it was used for deserts and drinks, so you could sell it in stores around the countries and people of all ages could buy it because it was not viewed as a drug. I think I remember the fix was making sure that laughing gas needed a machine to operate, so you cant operate it with your hands, therefore you need special equipment at home which is kinda expensive to get, but it also functions like an air blower, so if you tried to put it in your mouth to inhale, it would hurt instead of being tolerable. Also with the fact you'd need electricity made sure it was not used outside for drug purposes only.

Computer duster isn't nitrous oxide, it's Freon the same refrigerant used in automotive air conditioning systems. Both can cause that type of asphyxiation but the reason air duster is intoxicating is because it asphyxiates you, the reason nitrous is intoxicating is because the chemical itself is an intoxicant. The sensation you get from duster is essentially the same that you would get if you took all of the oxygen out of your lungs

LOL Being in the vape industry is about as good as being in supplements- what ever happened to the people that put vitamin E in vapes and gave kids popcorn lung? What about the new vapes that are equipped with LCD displays, lithium ion batteries and are intended to be disposed in landfills. (I assume intent in landfills absent a strong product lifecycle policy from the product vendor, including paid return postage and recycling).
@asdasdae
@asdasdae Күн бұрын
@@veccio 1st of all; popcorn lung was caused by diacetyl, not Vitamin E. Diacetyl was immediately banned in all vape products once the link was found. 2nd of all, the kids who were sent to hospitals with Vitamin E in vapes were using black market THC vape cartridges, not legitimate nicotine products sold at a legitimate store. Lastly, those vapes you're talking about with LCD displays and lithium-ion batteries meant to be thrown away are heavily looked down upon by the vaping community for exactly that reason. I don't think vaping is a good thing, but if you're going to make an argument against it, make it a well-informed argument.

I work at a head shop. There's a lot of disinformation about nitrous. But the real risk here is that people are doing hits straight from the canister causing irreversible lung damage (you have no nerves in your lungs and can't even feel them being frostbitten). Obviously "whippets" are dangerous and a cheap high. But not permanently damaging if done correctly. The other issue is these galaxy gas companies are diluting the nitrous so much, the other chemicals can cause permanent brain damage. Whippets are a trashy way to get high, but Nitrous is not neurotoxic, it doesn't kill brain cells. It depletes your system of b12 and that is what kills/paralyzes people. A multivitamin won't cut it either. The more we know about the actual risks/affects, the safer we will all be.

Another dead giveaway on the intent beyond canisters that size only making sense for commercial uses, and selling it to head shops and online instead of only only to restaurant/bar supply businesses, is the fact that they're "flavored". No chef/bartender I know has ever said, "If only these N2O chargers came flavored. That would surely elevate my cream/foam/cocktail/etc....", since they're aware that whatever the adulterant is, it's gonna adversely affect the flavor of the dish/drink they're making.

As a cook myself, I've never heard of flavored NO2, but now I actually do want to see if it would elevate my whipped cream game... like for real, if the flavor imparts into the cream, it would be a sick shortcut, as flavoring whipped cream is usually a pain. My uncle who's been a paramedic for literal decades said they used to keep nitrous oxide on ambulances as a relatively safe anesthetic and pain killer. But they had to stop because, as you can imagine, people started abusing it.
@jobblejosh9713
@jobblejosh9713 Күн бұрын
Entonox/Nitrous Oxide is still widely used as an analgesic, mainly because it has very few contraindications, it's fast acting and short lasting, patients can easily self-administer the amount they need, and when delivered via an appropriate mouthpiece and supervised by someone trained in its use, it's almost impossible to overdose since the mouthpiece requires the patient to actively suck on it to administer it (if you pass out, you can't suck, and so you can't self-administer more). It's also a mixture of 50/50 N2O and O2, to prevent asphyxiation/hypoxia. People could abuse it, but they could also try and obtain controlled drugs from an ambulance (morphine etc), and controlled drugs are arguably easier to carry around than a cylinder and demand valve for N2O/O2. The issue with its use recreationally is that there isn't necessarily the 50/50 mix (and thus asphyxia is a very real concern; most deaths and injuries are due to N20-induced hypoxia), and when delivered via an innapropriate mechanism (such as a balloon or straight valve) there isn't the active demand and so the gas will just keep flowing out even when the user is unconscious.

@@jobblejosh9713 I feel like I should also add, the few documented cases of people recreationally using this drug (allegedly) without too much harm involve waiting at least 4-6 weeks before each use, usually binges. (I have never done it myself). This supposedly has to do with replenishing the B12 absorption inhibition the drug causes (which leads to brain/nerve damage in most users). This also makes sense to explain why it is safe for medical use because you're not gonna be having dental surgery everyday for months. Obviously, kids who watch a few tiktoks and who go to buy this huge canister at their local smoke shops will not do that or practice any other kind of harm reduction. Even if you are "doing it only on Saturdays", even if doing every other bit of harm reduction and inhaling properly, you can still end up paralyzed and/or have serious brain damage because that is still way too frequently. It's incredibly addictive hence the name hippie crack. Hence why 99% of people who buy this galaxy gas, will end up with brain damage. What you mentioned, the asphyxiation that can occur during use, is well documented in abusers and is called "fishing out", because you will literally end up spazzing on the ground like a fish out of water gasping for air. Some people (infamously steve O) will actually purposefully do this for an additional high that is purely from lack of oxygen to the brain. Which by itself is many many times more accutely neurotoxic meaning immediate brain damage, whereas even when "inhaling properly" N20 is toxic through chronic abuse (sadly this is very frequent too).

I used to be a nitrous oxide auxiliary, when I assisted in chair side dentistry. The high is literally your brain dying. We ALWAYS administer nitrous with oxygen. Usually a 50/50 ratio. This keeps you in a twilight state without being oxygen deprived. Oxygen will also reverse the effects of nitrous immediately. Now imagine these people filling their lung space with nitrous. Where's the room for oxygen? That's why people are passing out. Your brain is oxygen deprived. Granted the nitrous escapes with every exhale. And the effects lessen as oxygen re-enters the body. But that could take too long and cause irreversible damage. Prolonged recreational use can cause tremors, spasms, memory loss, and a host of other neurological issues. The short yet dangerous recreational high just isn't worth it. Galaxy and fake culinary companies like them need to be held accountable. The litter from the cannisters should be alarm enough to do something. Lastly, folks are going to what they want. That said. Please don't use nitrous alone. Have a buddy. Especially if they don't use it. Pick up some cans of oxygen used for hiking. That oxygen could possibly reverse an overdose if administered quickly enough. Stay safe. 💚🫶🏽💚

I appreciate the attempt at encouraging safety but please don't repeat things like, "the high is your brain dying". As someone who grew up with the failed DARE program being pushed in schools, exaggerated rhetoric like this just leads to kids not trusting the warnings about drugs. N2O inhibits and activates various receptors in the brain which causes a calming, euphoric effect. It likely also stimulates the release of certain endogenous opioids. None of this simply comes down to lack of oxygen, which causes you to pass out often before you even realize what's happening. Inhibiting NMDA receptors effectively decreases neuronal activity but this is not your "brain dying".

@@silverserpent420 I understand that, the point is simply that while passing out from lack of oxygen certainly isn't helping the brain, as you know that isn't what's causing the euphoric sensation nor is it always happening. The most concerning part is really the size of the nitrous canisters that people are getting. I did nitrous back in high school over a decade a go, but back then you just got whip cream cans, let them melt, then inhale the nitrous. Unless you or a friend had a nitrous canister, basically a nitrous bong, then you could easily do whippit after whippit because you just add more chargers to the canister. With this galaxy gas stuff, it seems like you can just keep huffing on it without having to refill anything, which is where the true danger comes, since you can start inhaling more nitrous than you inhale oxygen. Also giving it the new nickname "Galaxy Gas" certainly has made it more trendy and popular among the youth. Teens always do dumb shit, social media is just showing us that stupid shit more often, but in this case social media is certainly pushing this drug into more popularity than I've ever seen in 26 years, it will probably be more common at house parties and stuff too

At least with the little whipped cream bottle cannisters (we called them bulbs) they're single-dose. It gets expensive and people notice if you buy a lot of them. If they had been selling 2kg bottles unrestricted when I was doing them, it would've been a much bigger problem. It also would've been shut down very quickly by the govt in my country, so the problem would've gone back to being a small one. You'd think these Galaxy Gas bottles would require FDA approval before being sold, given they're both a food and a drug. For some reason, the US will let people sell anything, then only look into it after it becomes a national scandal (like Bath Salts).

Chemistry FAQ Why Nitrous for whipping cream? Why not air? Carbon dioxide mixes to make acidic compounds in food. this ruins the sweetness and the texture of the product. Many common gasses will do this and pure air has a whole ratio of them. Nitrous is incredibly inert meaning it really doesn't react with most things unless youre intending it. Why does nitrous kill brain cells? Nitrous oxide displaces oxygen in the blood. The lingering high is your body literally starving for oxygen. It's used in low concentrations for dental anesthesia through a mask that is also providing positive airflow into your body. The dental equipment literally forces air into you. (Like a CPAP). Is there a safe amount? Seriously, don't mess with this stuff. It's not worth it. You build tolerance fast and if you end up huffing all day off a 2 kilo canister you can very well end up "overdosing" where your muscles don't get any oxygen and it can lead to limb damage and even situations requiring amputation. Huffing in general is an awful way to consume drugs. 1. You have no hints on dosing 2. You end up with a huge supply of the stuff which increases abuse to overdose potential 3. you almost always end up with permanent damage even with lower and less frequent doses. If you are reading this you are better than huffing. If you can't measure it, don't do it. ✌️

Oxygen displacement is the least dangerous of the side effects. Helium also displaces oxygen, but doesn't interact with the body's biochemistry (and is, technically, self-flushing). Nitrous oxide is a free radical, meaning it is itching to bind to anything it touches. This can cause anything from slightly impeding metabolic pathways to slowing/halting neural transfer to outright tearing holes in cellular membranes and killing them.

Standard chargers for culinary use are 8g, and you typically need 2 of them for a 1L whipping siphon, IIRC. A 2KG canister is only 125 batches, and would indeed save a ton of money vs buying a ton of smaller canisters. The obvious issue is that you can't actually load standard culinary siphons with these balloon-filling canisters without a ton of extra equipment like regulators and adaptors, but I just wanted to note that when I make whipped cream, we go through cartridges like crazy, and about 8 years back, prices for cartridges doubled.

While on the phone with 911, I caught a glimpse of him rising up like Michael Myers and acting like nothing happened. Later, he was high on nitrous at his home and collapsed on his dog. The dog ended up being paralyzed, then was put down. Around 2 months later he was found dead in his house after doing nitrous again. This stuff is not funny or cool.
