Very good video and so true, especially the bit about Sicily; I lived there for four years running an Airbnb, then a friend recommended moving to Sardinia. Bought a house in Monserrato last month; best thing I ever did. I have lived and worked in 12 countries, Europe, Africa and Middle East and finally found paradise on earth.

Thank you for your comment. The one thing to keep in mind is that it can get very busy in July and August, and the rates of hotels, AirBNBs drop a lot in nice months like May and June or September and October… if you are flexible on when you visit.

Love it, great, fast explanation. What towns would you recommend that are affordable, walkable and not far from coast? I am not rich, but looking to move from US back to Europe. There are lot of choices, I have no clue where to look and what to look for. Thanks a tons for any TIPS. Gracias!!
@bluevistaproperties7 ай бұрын
Hi, a lot depends on what you are looking for. I personally would stay not to far from an airport, so you can get to Europe. Also, it really slows down off season, so I would say close to a city that has life year round. There are so many options in Europe. I would definitely travel and stay for a while to get a sense and if you love it or not. Sardinia outside of the summer where it gets packed, it really is quiet. It’s great for people who want that slower pace, to get out of the frantic world. If you like hiking there is a new deal that would allow you to explore the area at a really affordable cost. Check out this link. www.bbc.com/travel/article/20240523-sardinia-the-mediterranean-isle-where-hikers-stay-for-free

❤❤❤❤ Everything I love!! How's your internet there?
@bluevistaproperties7 күн бұрын
The quality of internet and Wi-Fi in Sardinia can vary depending on the location. In general, the larger cities like Cagliari, Sassari, and Olbia tend to have more reliable and faster internet connections, with good coverage for both mobile data and fixed broadband. Wi-Fi is typically available in most hotels, cafes, and restaurants. However, in more rural or remote areas, especially in some coastal towns or mountainous regions, internet speeds can be slower, and coverage may be patchy. Mobile data can sometimes be less reliable in these areas, especially in valleys or places with poor infrastructure. For those looking to work remotely or depend heavily on fast internet, it’s recommended to check with specific accommodations or businesses about their internet quality before booking, as it can vary significantly. Some people also suggest using mobile hotspots as a backup in rural areas, as they can offer more consistent connectivity.

Thank you so much for this video. You had me at "quiet" 😂 as I currently live in a very beautiful part of central Mexico but this morning was woken up by the sound of roosters, barking dogs and then fireworks about 7 a.m. signaling the launch of a new festival. I also really like the point you made about it being green all year long as we have an extremely long dry season here of about eight months and everything gets very proud and very dusty. I like green but I don't like it to be too cold. I look forward to subscribing to your channel and seeing your construction-related videos!

So thank you for posting your comment. It touched me :-)

Does anyone know how life is in Sardinia? I want to move to Sardinia and have no idea, if near Cagliari, Olbia, or other city would be best. I live off of my Swiss disability pension and don’t need a job. I want to move near a city with public transportation, a good hospital, grocery stores, market, restaurants and cafes and nice beaches.
@bluevistaproperties7 күн бұрын
Hello, we’ve been going to Sardinia often, and love how it quiets down after the peak July and August summer season. Cagliari is a nice city with beaches close by, if you want something that is lively year round. But Olbia as well. I am not that familiar with public transport so you should check that out first. Wishing you all the best with your projects!
@MissRed928377 күн бұрын
@ Hello! Thank you for your message. Yes, I am actually trying to decide between Olbia and Cagliari. I’m disabled and most of the time at home. So, Olbia should be fine for me. It does have everything I need, like pharmacies, groceries, it even has a store selling gluten free foods (I have celiac disease). I checked and have figured out that Conad does house deliveries. What is important for me to have. I even found a nice townhouse in Porto San Paolo. It’s a new project and they are just starting with building these town houses. I’m just still in a fight regarding inheritance. But should I get my part, I can buy that townhouse. Porto San Paolo has busses going to Olbia city and the airport. So I may end up moving there. 😉
@bluevistaproperties7 күн бұрын
Hello, thanks for your note. One thing just to keep in mind is many of the little water front towns really shut down off season. I don’t know Porto San Paolo, and how alive it remains during the winter. Many restaurants close off season, so make sure you check carefully. And good luck with this exciting project!!!!

What area your thoughts about the Albanian riviera?
@bluevistaproperties11 ай бұрын
Hello, I have been asked that question and I had looked into it but for a variety of reasons I decided not to consider it, partially due to rules and regulations around property, titles and building, but also from a development opportunity and capital appreciation perspective. I like to say follow the big money, the investors who do deep diligence and then start investing in an area early. Montenegro, and in particular around Tivat, clicks that box. But there might be interesting opportunities in Albania but I have no expertise. Wishing you the best with your projects.

Whilst there may be more affordable areas in Sardinia, the Costa Smeralda in the north is a hyper luxury place with astronomic prices for Real Estate etc, one of the highest in the world 😮

doyou know if there is unesco restrictions on building in sardinia?
@bluevistaproperties7 ай бұрын
There are many various building rules which are linked to the location of the property. Sardinia can be very strict with regards to what can be built where, the size you can build versus the size of the land, the building code of that area, etc. If you are considering building you should really consult with a specialist about what can and can’t be done. Wishing you all the best with your projects!

2. Sardinia is only slightly smaller than Sicilly
@bluevistaproperties3 ай бұрын
Yes, somehow when we drove around Sicily it felt so much larger, maybe because the distances between key attractions required much more driving, while within 25 minutes in Sardinia we would have like 10 to 15 different beaches and 1 to 3 towns we could visit. In Sicily we would drive quite a long ways between each area that was highly recommended. So apologies for that mistake.

@bluevistaproperties Жыл бұрын
Yes, the rules for building require in some areas a very large lot of land. So the lots to sell that allow to build one house can be very large, unless they are in a development or a city where naturally the lot sizes are much much smaller.

I'm from New Alamin City in Egypt. My apartment is 4 minutes away from the Mediterranean and it is 240 square meters. Let me tell you the beaches we have are way more beautiful then Sardiana. Oh and before you start talking down about Egypt's north cost and how Italy is better just check New Alamin. This is where Italians go for vacation.

Thanks for these videos I’m an Italian/canadian currently living in canada But hoping to move to Italy full time soon and living off my investments. I am leaning towards Sardinia I think we will rent first and then buy once we have lived there for a year and are sure it’s for us. Any chance you can make a video on the different parts of Sardinia and how to choose where to live / rent on the island for people like me that won’t need to be looking for work…but rather just for the best place to live for a balanced lifestyle and to raise a family (homeschooling) :)

Hi Roberto, there is a very good tax incentive scheme for Italians who return to Sardinia, like a low single digit tax... could be interesting. I don't have any other videos unfortunately, the one thing in my experience about choosing a location depends on what you like. For me, I wanted to be close (within 1 hour) to an airport. So that meant either in the north close to Olbia or in the South close to Cagliari. I think you should take a week and go and explore, there nothing like being there in person and getting a sense of the island. And do keep me updated and let me know what you think. You can also share here your experience for others to be able to benefit from it.
