Before I quit GS , I approached my boss with some of these issues , the reply was how would compare your job with coal mine workers ,civil engineers/ construction workers , armed forces. Don't ever have the wrong impression that you are doing something great or irreplaceable or you will be missed. There are thousands more more than willing to do the job. I didn't had a reply.

Sounds like your boss was belittling your issues with the job with those comparisons :/

Colab videos is definitely a good idea. I do wish that there could be more interaction between you and Kajol, and maybe see both your reactions at the same time on split screens for some of these questions.

Will try out that concept for a future video :) thank you!

Hi!! I’m ur new sub. Like ur vid so much! I feel that I learn a lot already from ur videos. I have a question. Can one become a corporate development analyst right out of college after some related internships?
@angelasunx33 жыл бұрын
Usually unlikely as they generally hire people who at least have some experience, but I'm sure there are opps out there for right out of undergrad

Consulting: I have homework but they try to help us with all this stress. Investment banking: they give us projects at midnight but in the morning I get the honor of EATING MY DREAMS when I'm hungry... But we get more money tho

How much they pay for the hour? Work-life balance is overrated, specially if you are not married with kids. There is a period of time in life that is meant to be highly productive.

Investment bankers are not paid by the hour
@rodolfoblasser33293 жыл бұрын
@@simonzhang4690 My point is that no one works for free. Working 100 hours a week is a blessing, preety sure IB are not paid a misery. Besides, you can always quantify an hourly rate.

@@angelasunx3 Does your work require any coding skills? At leas 50% of any position in finance/banking can be either fully automated or, if it's data related then building data pipelines (including all steps of reporting) can ease the work load. I believe professionals are hired to think, not to do manual/repetitive work. I my case (liquidity risk) a regulatory report, which used to take 5+ hours manually, is now automatically done in 20 minutes without any supervision. So, those 5 hours can be invested better or just have better quality of life. Work smart, not hard.

@@rodolfoblasser3329 No coding skills required - it's largely a client facing / advisory role.
