As for Donald’s brain surviving you have to remember that they rebuilt him each time he died so assuming the first time his head was damaged enough they might have put the brain in a robotic case which technically would help super protect his brain making future deaths leave it more likely to be intact.

In the comics the conversation between Donald and Rick Sheridan happened quite a bit later in the comic, and his whole storyline about dying and becoming a cyborg and coming to terms with that had already happened in an entirely different comic series before Invincible started, so its really cool that theyve transitioned that storyline into organically being part of the Invincible series to begin with

Believe me when I say Anissa is a character that is not only scary but in the long term future of the show she is going to be a HUGE PROBLEM for Mark. Though I am glad Mark and Amber broke up for the better I will say they wrote Amber SO MUCH BETTER this season and at least for me personally they redeemed her form Season 1 and made her more understanding until she reached a logical breaking point when it came to how fragile her and Marks relationship was. I also really liked how this episode explored the idea of agency and independence especially with Mark and Amber's relationship and how Donna came to terms with his revelation when it came to help Rick

Actually one thing to know: Anissa is NOT stronger than Nolan. Nolan has just never fought at full strength against Mark, and that Kaiju in episode 8 was only beating him because he wasn’t emotional and unbalanced. That and they’d already done some damage. Omni-man, in truth, is one of the strongest and most respected Viltrumites in the empire. Leagues above Anissa. There is reason they sent 3 viltrumites to fight Nolan. XD And in the comics, Mark never put up a fight in that scene. That’s a show-only feat for Mark. XD

Anissa is slightly faster than Nolan but Nolan is physically much stronger and more durable. The Kaiju he struggled with was the biggest one ever recorded and he only struggled because Cecil buffed it with implants and drugs.

19:52 I believe is because Mark wants to prove he isn't like his father, Anissa wanted Mark to prove he is the son of Nolan by saying yes. Cecil give him an easy exit to just lie, but even as a lie, Mark just cannot bring himself to "conquer earth" because that would be accepting he is what is father wanted him to be in season 1. And we know how that ends in the alternative timelines, when Mark did agree with his father. Which, when you think about Angstrom Levy, his memories are hundreds of alternate versions of himself whose friends and families were slaughtered in worlds where Mark did accept, makes the most ironic that he's going againts the one who didn't accept it and is actively trying to not to be, even if that means getting beaten to a pulp.

On the topic of Anissa's power: it's not that Anissa is necessarily stronger than Nolan, but rather that Mark now rates a more concerted effort from a Viltrumite to beat down. It's like he's moved up a weight class. Also worth taking into consideration: Nolan wasn't really trying to kill Mark, so he wasn't going all-out; and Anissa is basically the carrot before the stick that Mark provoked into a fight (from the Viltrumite point of view). She is basically acting as an ambassador in this situation, so she's not there to kill Mark. Like he said, the Empire has use for Mark, which is apparently worth a little insubordination in the beginning, at least before the "bad cop" arrives.

What I love is just from S1 to S2 how they handle Amber is 1000% better! Here when they have this breakdown everything makes sense, and she's even contradicting the shit she said last season that made me so mad with her. The writing for her is so much better this season! Still whether she's with him or not I don't think changes the fact that she's IN his world no matter what. Not as a girlfriend but even if they break up that shit is still going on and the world ends if Mark fails. I guess you can take the "Ignorance is bliss" approach that you at least don't know how fragile the world is, but I think once you open that bag of cats there's no getting em back in. At least for me as soon as I realized how on the edge the world was from dating someone who was in the know Idk if I could go back to sitting back knowing nothing cause I'd just be full of anxiety lol.
