If I can provide more details here it is mainly the Parisian suburbs, Paris is much more beautiful during a night approach. But I think that only Le Bourget offers approaches really above Paris

I love seeing night approaches. The air is usually calm and smooth, and the lights are beautiful. Congratulations on left seat in the A320, you should be very proud of your accomplishment. It would be interesting to see a video where you can comment some on the challenges which may arise from switching from Boeing to Airbus.

Yes it's normal, French is a IATA langage as Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Spanish. All these langages can be spoke instead of english as far as both controllers and pilots speak it!
