Dear Iohan, your passing is messing me up more than I think it should, given we never met or talked. I didn't realize how much you impacted me. This was the first film of yours that I saw, and ever since then, you have continued to inspire me, and to keep the stoke alive in between my own adventures. I remember constantly talking about you and exchanging your films with my friend while we planned our own trip. That kind of inspiration is really valuable and makes me want to work harder to share my own adventures with the world, in the hope that I may inspire others. The people you met around the world clearly loved you because of your openness and empathy. Your willingness to continually push the envelope of what was physically possible was astonishing to witness. Your unending love for animals revealed the kindness of your spirit. I feel like the world was robbed when you left so early. But really we are so lucky to have had you in the first place. And your films will go on to inspire countless others. I'm so sorry you had to suffer in life. May you be at peace.

Can't believe Iohan is no longer with us. Such a positive energy for life. He was special, so special, more than he ever knew. To think he was suffering such torment that he decided to take his own life is so distressing given all that he had achieved and the thousands, millions of people that he had given enjoyment to, helped and inspired through his videos, that there was no one able to help him when he needed it most, to say "It's ok Iohan, we can get through this. Everything will be ok." Maybe there was I don't know, but it is so sad that he decided to check out. I wish you were still around and that I could thank you for how much you inspired me in my own adventures and in my own videos. Never afraid to take the road less travelled, always optimistic and always Iohan. Thank-you.

What surprised me most.. no spare parts, no tire repair, no chain repair, left winter cloth behind etc. etc. etc.

I followed him for long, I got inspired by his journey, I bought a bike, and learnt that I like hiking more, I want to travel slow, and see everything, I am still a bit impatient sometime. Now I have the plan to next year take 7 months of and walk aroundy my country the netherlands, and sometime walk al the 11000 km of trails. He gave me so much energy and things to look forward for, he will life in my being forever., I would not be what I am without his inspiration. Hope he lives forward in our Adventures

I did the same and realised I preferred hiking :) my friend is planning on going on a mini bikepacking trip in his honour, I'll probably join. I wish he was still here instead :(

@@hanskloss9482 search for his name on KZbin, there are videos made by other bikepackers and friends, there is also a video about his goodbye at a memorial place., it's hard for me to answer your question here, because I'm having a hard time with it, yes
