It's a fantastic mount and I have had lots of success with it! I'm sure you're going to love it especially the power port under the DEC head.

@@JTAstro Can you power an Asiair/ ZWO focuser/ ASI533MC with the DEC dc? .. and can it communicate with the mount without cables?
@JTAstro

@@lavers_1 yes you will still need the USB cables to the focuser and camera but yes it will work. I currently have DEC to the ASIAIR Plus and from the plus I have the ZWO focuser, ZWO 2600MM, ZWO Filter wheel and the ZWO 290MM Mini guide camera.

Awesome!! I'm trying to figure this out for my HEM27. From the PlusRoc 12V/24V to 5V Converter what to wires do you solder for the DC connection to the Plus and the USB C to the router?

Great video, loads of information! I see that you are using many different softwares. The software for the MT 3000 should ne enough to get the job done correct? Please let me know, thanks.

Yes it will allow you switch back and from from ZWO to Open Astro, to what ever the heck you want to use including Windows or any other system. Again the MT 3000 is simply a router that lets you connect directly to the mount and then from there what ever you want to use.

I have a IO GEM 45, with a IStarFi module that I apparently can set it to AP/Station combo mode just as you did and I have the GL MT3000. So to make sure I got this, the GL is connecting to the home network, the ASIAIR is hard wired to the GL, the mount wifi (in my case the IStarFi) is set up to connect to the GL Via station mode. I am setting station mode on the mount to connect to the GL as opposed to setting station mode on the ASIAIR The mount is getting its commands from the ASIAIR through the GL wirelessly since the mount is operating in station mode to the GL network and ASIAIR is hardwired to the GL network (There is not a eqmod cable going from the mount to the ASIAIR is there?)

Based on what you're saying it would work without a cable to the mount. One thing is I am not sure what it looks like with the MT3000 connected to your home network not sure if that slows it down or not. In terms of the iStarFi I can't talk to that. Based on the reviews from iOptron it does not work with Astrophotography at least per the reviews. So you will need to test it. It may be helpful to update the reviews if it does in fact work for AP.

Thanks a lot. I have gem28, other router, all done well, almost work, I see my mount, asiair too on my router but how to setup mount on asiair. this one is some problem for me. with usb mount works, when I disconnect gem28 from the asiair it stops working. How to setup asiair, ethernet/serial?
@JTAstro

I used to have the gem28 does it not have a WiFi option? You might be able to purchase an Ethernet to serial cable but that would be an ask to tech support at iOptron.

@@JTAstro gem 28 has the go to nova 8409 driver and it is there. I once connected to Asiaair via WiFi but I had to enter 192.168.X.1YY where YY=28/45/70. Now somehow I can't. The router connected via Wi-Fi to gem28. it's about what to enter in the asiair mount settings?

I assume you connected the provided 4 pin cable to directly connect the RS232 port from StarFi to RS232 port on the telescope mount? If so when the ASIAIR boots up you need to turn on Station Mode under the WiFi and then connect to the StarFi network. It will take a minute to do and then once it's connected go-to the mount setting in the software and choose IP and then use IP Address 10.10.100.254 and Port Number 8899. That should get you into the mount.

@@JTAstro Thanks for your. I am sure you do this for practical reasons. Can you explain what you mean "taking our equipment as far as we can go for Astrophotography". what does that mean?
@JTAstro
@JTAstro 10 ай бұрын
@@bobwilson8838 Sure you bet! When when I say "taking our equipment as far as we can go for Astrophotography" I simply mean pushing the limits of the hardware. A perfect example is Open Astro which I released www.openastro.net/. On the website you will find walk throughs for adding Astroberry, Stellarmate, OpenAstro and also INDIGO Sky for the ASIAIR PRO and Plus Raspberry Pi models. These type of operating systems allow you to take the ZWO to whole other level in terms of usability as you are no longer locked into ZWO hardware. Let me know if that makes sense.
