Everyday and Siri, Waze Maps, News, Podcast and Music (since 1 week between beta 2 and beta 3 the share play popped up, maybe from server side, coz there where not update) Issue is, since ios 17 siri does not recognize When I say Hey Siri, send a message to .. on WhatsApp Business.. I have to say how Hey Siri send a message to... on Double U A Business. With WhatsApp Business I get the response that there is no such app and I have to check on the App store... Either way, on IOS 16 was working, but the response of Siri was always the same, ok sending message or calling... Person on Double U A Business. Now as I write, it might be logically that this is not an issue of Apple but of Metas WhatsApp... If they call there Business WhatsApp in Short: WA Business in the Install Settings, Siri might just know the name WA (Double U A) Business. What do you guys think? Could that be?

You know what I would like to see in Apple CarPlay? Well, you know how when you get an incoming phone call on your iPhone, the notification no longer takes over the whole screen, but confines itself to the dynamic island? That's what I would like to see in CarPlay. It sometimes happens that I'm driving an unfamiliar route, using Apple Maps for directions, and a phone call comes in just at the very moment when I need to glance at the map on the display. The map is completely hidden by the notification! What SHOULD happen is that the notification confines itself to just a small part of the display, so that I can still see the map. THAT is what I would like to see in Apple CarPlay. Compared with that, I think that the new wallpapers are of no importance whatsoever.

I wish they would add widgets to CarPlay. It would be nice to have a larger square for time and weather. Trying to drive and look over at the tiny little clock and temp is a pain.

Exactly something that’s coming with the new Carplay. Don’t expect big changed to the current Carplay, it’ll still be supported, but big new features will be exclusive to the big new version.

I got to use Apple CarPlay for the first time. This past weekend I got to use a rental car 2023 Jeep grand Cherokee with Apple CarPlay. I’ve never wanted a newer car in my life. Such a cool feature!

I use a CarPlay system that is not native to my car so this may not be a general issue. The problem is that when trying to use voice in Google maps the CarPlay system crashes immediately and needs a full power off / on to recover. Manual Search works as usual. Is this an issue with CarPlay in General or just my non-standard system?

the EV feature in Maps is incredible - as a new owner of one, i’ve been stunned by how unbelievably bad the third-party EV CarPlay apps have been (PlugShare and ElectrifyAmerica’s CarPlay apps are borderline useless). stoked to test this out tonight!

Running iOS 17 RC Public Beta on my iPhone 14 Pro. As far as new issues: So far there is a new glitch on the standby screeen. When I wake my phone the notifications just have a black background.

Lol, we have had share play for a long time: my wife has an iPod 3 loaded with thousands of songs connected to our car’s 3.5 plug. It works even we are out of cell tower range. Works great, and is a lot less complex!

This is great. Can I ask a question as you seem to have so much knowledge on this. I’m listening to a podcast and say I’m halt way through and I want to return to the beginning I would have to click on that back so many seconds icon until I’m at the start again. That’s a long time of pressing to do this. I seem to remember months ago getting back the start of a podcast by simply pressing the back arrow on the actual car radio system which would be for the inbuilt CD player. It’s a BMW F35 on a 62 plate. Just odd that I could press a button for immediate restart and then now it won’t happen. Thanks

Always good content. I love what Carplay does. I hate what it cannot do. It is EXTREMELY restrictive and stupid. It has very limited apps. No usable weather app. I can use navigation to search with my voice, but I can't use voice to search for a song on Amazon Music. Meanwhile, I have to click 6-7 times on the screen to find an artist or song. I wish Apple offered an option to turn off all restrictions, with a disclaimer for liability.

What i still don’t like is how you can press directly on the map which charger or which location you’ve searched. You have to choose it in the left-hand side list. As if I know the name of all the addresses in the world and which corresponds to which. Especially when you’re driving you need this to be easier.

When on a call the phone disconnects while on a call , it does this after being on a call for about 25 mins , this is in beta 3 too . I’m using a 14 pro max with connected lighting lead .

The Nautilus displays Ford Sync widgets. Those are not CarPlay widgets. It has a standard single screen CarPlay interface. Please correct your video.
