There’s a bug I hate, which seems to not have been fixed. 1. When making a call, it automatically goes to loudspeaker, so painful if you had the phone on ur ear. 2. During a call, it doesn’t want to switch between loud, iPhone or Airpods, especially on WhatsApp and FaceTime calls and video calls. 3. Automatic doesn’t work when you want the phone to prioritize speaker than actually blasting full volume ringing in your Airpods when receiving a call. Eardrums 👂🥁⛓️‍💥

😂 well this means that the latest public beta of iOS 18.1 should be released either later today or sometime tomorrow or sometime this week at least. Hopefully this will have fixed the issue that voiceover users are experiencing with notifications and banners.

If anyone knows how to contact Apple on a bug I found, the situation that needs addressed is the following. When screen recording is in progress, the screen recording is supposed to automatically stop and save when the display turns off, meaning that the 'always on' function is turned off, as in previous models/iOS versions. Instead, the screen recording continues, even with the display off, so when you wake the phone up or make the screen turn on, you press end the screen recording button (think this is the Control Center feature). After the recording saved, connect to Mac, and open the Image Capture. After importing the recorded video, playback will not start, only in a continuous 'busy' (spinning ring) on a gray background, whether attempting to play using the Spacebar or in QuickTime. Even rotating the video will become 'stuck.' It will open and play just fine in VLC and import into a program, such as Adobe Premiere Pro timeline. Nobody at Apple is aware of this issue, so it needs corrected, as many people do screen recording and need to import, but the clip will be unplayable. I don't think Apple has a bug report submission, or if they used to they don't seem to anymore.

Thanks for the heads up Brandon. Downloading the update now, developer version. The battery drain on the beta 5 release was shocking! Literally lost 10% in less than an hour and my battery health has gone down 2%! I am using the 15 pro max. Fingers crossed for better battery performance.

I noticed that I’m getting 2 bars on my cellular reception instead of 1 at times in my house now which is welcome for the modem update so far on the 16 pro max .Hopefully the battery life is just as good .

It’s a settings issue, go to battery and charging and you can change how far it charges It’s better to keep at 80% for longer battery health

A couple of things that I still can’t believe Apple has not improved or implement yet, is the capability to setup a password to shut down your phone which will help a lot in terms of security, and the capability to close all the apps at once these are basic things that most of other operative systems do and Apple haven’t done it yet 😢

I’m glad they finally added the AirDrop standalone toggle inside of the control center. This past weekend I literally had to go into settings to change AirDrop to “Everyone for 10 minutes” after removing the connectivity platter from my control center, something I never had to do even before iOS 18.

I experienced my fix ‘bug’ today while at work. I was trying to reset my company password through my phone after updating to the 18.1 beta 6 last night. Long story short my phone experienced lag, couldn’t close apps, couldn’t switch pages and couldn’t even shut off my phone as my screen was unresponsive except for the bottom ‘X’ button. Took a few minutes before my phone returned back to normal.

I’m having friends tell me that in iOS 18.0.1 there is a massive decline in battery life than the previous public release and one of those friends is extremely disappointed because she uses to monitor her health through sensors she has and is finding that she can’t for as long now.
