Regarding the mail app and categories I feel like its too little too late. I think that the feature is great but that should have been released long ago and many have just moved on. Especially since other apps like outlook offered it long ago

😳 I can tell Brian wasn’t really that excited about the new features in this update. This is the most honest I’ve ever heard him talk about Apple’s lackluster “innovation” as of late, but I actually appreciate the realness. I was excited for 18.2 but Siri’s not much smarter, ChatGPT answers are slow, GenMoji’s take more effort than a regular emoji, the new mail sorting isn’t that intelligent yet, and the rest of the AI features are not even fully baked yet. I’m actually bummed, but I gained a new respect for this channel for keeping it real with us.

Yes, I used to have the 13 but recently upgrade to a 16 plus. There’s definitely a different in speed and the cameras. The battery life on the 16 is also much better

90% of 18.2 and 18.1 are for IPhone 15-16. What apple needs to do is, if you have an older device that the updates aren’t for you shouldn’t get the update, because yeah what’s the point?

The biggest change for normals in IOS 18.2 is in the mail program. Apple decided that it is best that normals to have to check each and every category folder when they go to use the Mail application to see if that folder has new messages in it. Sorry this is a MAJOR FAIL on Apples part to make this an opt out to switch back to the previous list mode (which is what I did) so all eMail messages come into the Inbox folder except for "Junk" which most all of the time is SPAM. This should have never been an opt out process.

tl;dr here are a ton of new features that you probably won't use. We truly have reached peak smart phone sadly. Other than perhaps writing tools, the AI tools are mostly short-lived novelties.

If not for a select few apps that aren't available anywhere else, I'd have ditched apple a long time ago. Still tempted to. Also annoying, nearly impossible to get a decent android tablet with cellular, especially an unlocked one.

Kind of upset that my m4 iPad Pro doesn’t get the new mail it still looks like the old one. Don’t like the gimped Siri activation wave on the iPhone it’s like half the animation now.

Wow does 18.2 and Apple Intelligence SUCK! All of the image creations are the cheapest looking images ever created by a large tech company. I played with Digital Playground for about 30 seconds before deleting off all of my devices. Apple has 💩 the bed on iOS 18.
