iPad Mini 2 Digitizer Repair Guide | Disarm the traps!

Today I'm replacing the glass of an iPad Mini 2, which is still a viable tablet
almost a decade after release. This one is armed with several traps, but we'll defuse it and get this glass replaced. Links to parts and tools below:

@@TapticDigital yea ik ive done this before but when they are very cracked its hard to get the stupid digitizer off. And plus i sometimes get cut by the glass, i prefer phones.

I learned the hard way its pretty easy to crack the digitizer while removing it if you pry up a bit too hard in the middle lol

Is there a replacement digitizer you highly recommend? I'm looking to do this repair myself as it looks fairly straightforward

They're all about the same these days, just make sure it includes a new home button, it makes the repair way easier.

Someone please answer me. Can i use mini1 digitalizer for mini2? I have an ic locked mini 1 and a cracked ghost touching mini2.

You sure can! The Mini 1 and Mini 2 use the same glass/digitizer. Just be really careful when removing the uncracked one!

Help!! We had an iPad mini 2 in storage for a few years and gifted it to one of my kids? Somehow it was damaged and looked like it might have been stepped on. The screen is not cracked but the touch screen has lines through it.. can it be fixed??

Yup, it will just need an LCD replacement. It's probably the most expensive part to replace, but it's still a lot cheaper than buying a new iPad!

so replacing the digitizer will solve problem of unresponsive screen? the tablet didn't froze, bc voluming works

Depends, if the image is distorted or the LCD is broken, changing the glass won't help. If your glass is cracked but the screen still shows image just fine, you just need glass

yep, the LED works perfectly and shows action performed by buttons, but does not give any signs of action when screen is tapped by a finger @@TapticDigital

i have one more question. The touchscreen stopped working all of sudden, I bought the iapd, set it up, downloaded some KZbin and it suddenly stopped responding to touches, like in random moment during work. isn't it some kind of idk lag? I restarted it 5 times @@TapticDigital
