Excellent forming of environment. The piece gives an excellent feel of drawing the viewer into the painting. The lighting and shadows are very well composed and dance together well. Excellent work!

Have you tried starting the painting with more saturated colors, so they bleed through in spots rather than trying to boost up the contrast and color saturation later on during the painting process ?
@GodisGood9414 жыл бұрын
Not sure you or anyone who knows how to answer this will but how do you make the glows from the lights? Is it just colors or a special brush

@TheWotsa5 жыл бұрын
AMAZING work!! May i ask many layers in total did you use??
@PanzerMecha6 жыл бұрын
Awesome work! Couple questions if you happen to get around to it: how did you go about deciding what colors to make the left tree's bark? You brought in some reds - was the because there are reds on the roof or reference image or just because you wanted to make the bark redder for color variation? Also when you turn the canvas greyscale and I guess do some value adjustments broadly, how did you do that? Thanks!
@JJcanvas6 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt! The answer to the first question is both! For the color variation withing the forest and also because there was already some red in the piece! As for the grayscale - It is indeed for a value check, and the way I do it is I have a layer on top of all others filled with black and with blend mode set to Color or Hue. Cheers!

@blueserenity76 жыл бұрын
I'm amazed at the detail in this. Do you really not zoom in or move at all while working on paintings, or is there a feature with the procreate screen recording that holds the camera in one place for the whole lapse?
@JJcanvas6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I do zoom in, but like you said it has to do with ProCreate - The software doesn't really record the screen, it just "remembers" each action that you take and then plays them all. It doesn't see stuff like zooming or interface things as actions, so these don't appear in the time-lapse.
@blueserenity76 жыл бұрын
JJcanvas Ohh, I see! That's actually perfect for lapses-- it's nice to see the way the whole painting develops and kind of fun to follow the brush around. Also, you've totally won me over to Procreate in general from these awesome videos. I still have the cintiq and photoshop setup, but If I ever get a tablet, I'd totally consider using it for drawings while I'm out and about.

@aki-senkinn6 жыл бұрын
Age doesn't matter in art; someone who started learning at 9 will be better at age 20 than someone who started when they were 19 because one had 11 years and the other had 1. Don't worry about your age, if you want to do art just go for it, be persistent and you will get good, there is no one who can see into your future, not even you to tell how many years it will take. If you still really want a number you can count with 7000 hours to get there at least; but that is just a very vague average.
@seabedrock6 жыл бұрын
I think your passion and interest matters. Not the age. When you're very passionate about making art and you practice every day and strive to be better, you will achieve what you're aiming for. Don't stop though, keep learning and practicing :D You are going to be awesome.
