hi mate, u need to study the schematic in order to know exact location of the fault. But in most cases is u2, which is a voltage regulator, which protect the main PMIC not to get damaged or to overheat.

Again, Thank you :) I did change U2 and it Started getting voltage but would not power up...I changed Meson with a new IC after noticing a short on a couple Caps next to it and it powered up! :) But...now there is no touch...So, I changed Meson again....No shorts and can't figure it out. This is a great video.. I recently had my iPhone 6 Plus die on me.. I had my screen replaced and the actual screen would become unresponsive at times.. so I asked me buyer and he tells me to rub alcohol on the ribbons. After that it worked well for awhile; moreover, The screen went right back to being unresponsive. At this point I apply wipe the ribbons again.. then the phone cuts off one day and never came back on ever since...

Thank u. first on board repair never use alcohol. because it doesn't dry proper after. and if u power up the board, it may kill it. use always falcon 530. check on Google about it. or G 22..puliscicontatti is an Italian product. same as contact spray. even better. yes before u fit the new ic chip, place a drop of flux. and heat it for half second. it will help the BGA to align with pcb pads. just by applying heat over the ic. thank for watching. cheers

Hi, welcome to the field first. Is not a vibration tool, is just the solder iron, witch is hot enough to break the hot glue coat on the chip. but just be careful not to break extra electronic parts, just the U2 chip, or whatever chip you need to replace. The best temp for hot air, is @ 400 450 C but you need to know how to handle that much temp in short time, not to burn other part..

alaster harmons if is overheating. is a electronic basis law which says that somewhere into a point the curent is growing to maximum what power supplies. so is a short somewhere. maybe the ic chip is not align proper. do it again. if u have an extra chip

I got my iPhone 6 Plus customized by a shop where they change the color of your iPhone by changing the back frame to a different color and they took out evertything from my phone like logic board and all that and switched it to the new frame, the phone was working fine for 2 months and then randomly it started to start acting up like I would use it for 10mins and then it turns off, works for 10mins and then turns off again over and over, the battery was brand new so it couldn't be that and I checked the display and all the cables were tight so can you tell me what the problem is because the phone turns on for 1 second and then turns off but the screen is still on, it just doesn't boot anymore!

I have a 6 plus very hard to diagnose the issue first it worked perfect for a couple of days then out of the blue turned off and won't come back on so I leave it again a few days then comes back on but last time I tried phone has gone off and won't turn back on tried new battery still same I try connecting to iTunes to no avail however as soon as I try putting it in dfu mode connected to iTunes it recognises the phone so surely if it's being found on iTunes it can't be the tri star ic ?

Juani Araujo get back to the guy/girl who replaced your screen and ask them nicely to recheck the ribbon cables on the screen, they might've put them loosely and are the things giving you the problems with the display if it still doesn't work try another lcd (on ebay you can find used ones or new ones from 9.99 upwards) good luck mate

I have wondered about that ! I notice sometimes "3rd party" LCD will not have "shielding" tape on the soldered connector for the backlight on the LCD. I always tape over it and it seems like it could cause a short..

so based on your details, it looks like a backlight problem, and could be a short maybe where is audio chip. I would sugest u to look for liquid damage and try to clean that with some Falcon 530. Hi mate. 1st Yes, you should add flux before fitting the new IC chip. Helps to align proper on the right pads, for a right temperature 2nd. after few seconds when u start heating up the ic with 400C u will be able to see that the ic chip will slightly move a bit, to its right position. Following these steps will secure a proper installation for your new ic. If after, the board is not drawing 500 mA it could mean u need to replace the tristar chip as well. U need to keep in mind that some chips from ebay, comes from old boards, already used, and they just been refurbish, i mean they put new balls on the ic. And many of these don't power up the board. In some cases i changed it twice. And works after. U welcome. Cheers

Overall a good video. I can see that you have done this a lot. Camera could be secured just a little more. The motion of it annoyed me some. You did not mention or show that you pulled a capacitor off the board. Happens a lot so why try to hide it?

I was watching the guy do everything for me and the phone was dead and he was charging it perfectly fine til it hit about 5% to show me the screen works. I have an iPhone 6 that was not charging after water damage. Phone could boot with a good battery but could not charge. I tried to replace u2 ic and rehot u1401 ic and now phone is completely dead, iTunes does not recognize it. I try to measure the volts of the capacitors near this chips and no volts, no sigh of life!! What i did wrong? Can you fix this if i send you the phone? What's the possibility to repair this? Juan Juarbe that phone board is definitely broken. it has a short or miswire parts. I will be difficult to repair it. if is getting hot is because the big pmic chip

Hi this video is amazing!! I forgot my iPhone 6s Plus in my pocket while I was in the jacuzzi for about 10 minutes. When I took it out of my pocket the screen was blank and the camera flash was on until it died. Now when I plug in the charger all that happens is the flash turns on very dim nothing else comes on. I don't think anyone here in Toronto can fix this. Have you heard of this before could it possibly be an easy fix?

I'm sorry I don't have Facebook. This happened a month ago and I had someone clean all contacts and dry out the phone that same day. I managed to follow your video and take out the logic board. Is there any way to test the logic board and screen to see if they work. I tried connecting power to the board without anything else attached and plugging into my computer but nothing happened.

it may be, but i believe that u still need a nanad programmer to format the chip before u swap it! The programmer is called NAVIPLUS PRO3000

Hi mate, yes many ways if u know a bit basic electronics. I will suggest you to have a power supply with a display showing DC Voltage and Current used. Connect it to a DC voltage supply 5 V, and the power supply should absorb around 500 -1000 mA. if is under 100 is either battery, charging port and finally U2 ic chip, which doesn't connect the circuit completely leaving it open circuit. I plugged the phone to a computer and itunes was able to recognize it. So looks like a connector is bad and not the U2 chip.

+Loan Nguyen first try a new battery. After another charging port. And if u have a power supply which display current draining. Is better. Check if is lower than 100mA than u need to replace the u2 chip.

HI MATE, thanks for watching, if your iphone is completly dead, it may be battery, charging port and the last to check is u2 ic chip. u need to connect the phone to a power supply give it 5 Volts, and if the current drawing is less than 100 mA is U2 ic chip.

hi mate first u need a power supply which shows u the current drawn by the pcb. if is under 100 mA, could be battery or ic u2. After remove the battery and connect a charger, if the apple logo doesn't appear it is a short of u2 ic. But after all if is not fixed, need to detect the short! remove it will fix the board.

my iphone 6s battery got drained and switiched off and now its not getting started so when i had been to apple service center they advised me for a replacement and they told me about lci triggered..................but thing is mobile felt in water before 4 months back but after keeping in rice bag it was ok and doing good ......but from 4 days battery battery backup was not good and finally on 4th day it got switiched off and not getting started .......can you please help me that either it is u2 chip ic problem or charging circuit or battery problem .............if problem with u2 chip ic and if i replace it for how many days it lasts .........because again it should not be a same problem ........and does data gets format if u2 chip ic replaced .please help me out because i am confused wether to repair or replacement ....
