Crappy phone on long term you will hate it i use one it has significant network issues and the sound is very low and on long term use tour bottom speaker with go out and battery health drops quite fast and when it drops below 83% it lags all the time and if it drops below 81% it is unstable and unusable in ios 17.1

I think it's all about the competition, cause now there are still better values in Android phones than the SE in that price range, but they will try to keep some customers after android get more with rcs and nothing version of blue bubbling. And the profit margin on the Phone is most likely the only smaller than pro models, but really I don't believe that in their scale of economics they can't use a normal Camera array? Funny

If they can still hover around that $450, this hits a sweet spot. Everything you need, nothing you don't. For people that don't really want to overspend on phones and a phone is more like a tool than means to make a living, this is awesome. Have it with at least 128GB base storage and I'm really fixing to get one.

This SE sounds too good to be true. It’s essentially got the display of the 14, but the processor and charging port of the 15. It’s missing the ultra wide lens that the 14 and 15 both have, but it gets to be $200-$300 cheaper? Why would anyone buy a 14 or a 15 at that point

I think theyl add a finger print scanner to the new SE like the iPads have, its probably cheaper than putting face ID sensors on it, and they could also add that to the pros as a “we did something new this year to it”

I’m 30 and I love the SE. I’ve been getting them since the 1st gen. It’s a decent value for someone ho prefers iOS but doesn’t want to spend crazy money on a phone. All I need is gps, phone, iMessage, and a basic camera. Honestly I really only use the phone for the camera, my Apple Watch takes care of everything else with AirPods. I use my iPad for any multimedia or social media at home. Which inadvertently helps keep my sanity by avoiding that stuff when I’m out of the house. I do prefer Face ID over fingerprint cus I work in construction and my hands are always dirty. So I hope that part of these rumors are true.

Most likely 13 mini form factor will be the next se, But personally i don't like notches and punch holes, what i like is a full screen display without any kind of interference. If they had kept the touch id and just gave a bigger display with minimum bezels, i would have been sold.

One thing that iPhone SE is missing is the fully support for AirTags. You only get a bare minimum support for it, so you can't navigate to your AirTag with iPhone SE and get direction and distance like you can with iPhone 11 and newer "numbered iPhones". I expect this difference between SE and numbered iPhones to keep on. So why no iPhone SE in march 2024? Because of Apple Vision Pro?

My iPhone history: 5C, SE 1 and then iPhone 11. This was due to several reviewers pointing out what a great deal it was being $75 cheaper than the SE 3 and you're getting a larger screen and bigger battery. I'm not a power user so those two things are most important to me. And they were right, I couldn't be happier. Except by the time the SE 4 comes out it might be worth taking that big leap forward.

For a SE package this is a great bargain which includes a higher capacity battery, action button, fingerprint reader and a bigger better screen. For a budget phone a single lower quality camera shouldn't be a deterrent especially for the teenagers. Having an upgraded phone chassis like the iPhone 14 is great. 😎💯👍🏾

Currently that would be a very good deal for €500 or more, whatever the SE 4 will cost in Europe. However, if it takes until the end of 2024 / beginning of '25 until the release, then the price might still be okay, but not as great as it would be now.

apple should bin the "plus" models, replace with a mini, and instead add an "SE plus" model (i know how cursed it sounds knowing where the SE concept stemmed from, but nowadays it ain't about size, it is about value) they'd capture more market and segment that weird "14/15/16 plus" one this way all yearly iterations would have their defined market: standards: 16 and 16 pro, size: 16 mini and 16 pro max and you'd have two SE models filling gaps: SE (modified 14 chassis), SE plus (modified 14 pro max chassis) you'd segment that "16 plus" market but it would make sense 1: the big phone guys that want the "newest" iphone would be nudged to the pro max series instead 2: conversely, the big phone guys that want the "best battery eficiency", or a just a big iphone for less $$ would be happier with an SE plus, properly optimized, a bit underclocked and even cheaper and apple would have to make just 3 chassis: mini, standard (se, classic and pro edition), and big (se plus, and pro max)
