Weird. I used my last Samsung phone from 2019 to 2022, from the first version of One UI through to One UI 4, and now I'm on iOS for my main phone and looking to get a Pixel 6a as a secondary phone so people don't call me an Apple sheep.

"Even" Apple? iOS ist decades back. You cannot place icons where you want. "Even" not in iOS 14! The keyboard is the worst in its class. So why "even"?

@@ThomasHoellriegl as a phone. iOS is the best. Apple has the basics nailed! And with the best performance hardware. Apple just does what 90% of people do on phones the best. I think you forgot to mention that both OneUI and Stock Android have something called notification history. So you can see the notifications even after you delete them. As a person who accidentally clears an important notification too often, it's really helpful.

Great comparison/review! Bonus tip about One UI's edge panel: there is a free panel called "widget edge" which then lets you view all the added widgets on the lock screen. You still have to swipe open the edge panel and also swipe to that panel if it wasn't the last viewed, but it's technically a way to see a couple more widgets on the lock screen.

All valid points. Great review. OneUI definitely has more features. However, stock Android on the pixel just works. For example, the typing experience, and speech to text on the pixel is second to none. I own all three phones, and they all have their pros/cons. At the end of the day, it boils down to what you're doing with the phone.

Okay review ... You can tell you're mostlyt an IOS user who has explored the features of iOS in depth and have merely glanced over features of the other two. I thought the tying of notifications and photo gallery to be a cop out. You gave IOS a point because their focus mode syncs across devices, but Google photos works on both iOS and Android making it the easy win for photo Gallery. Also saying Dex is basic and featureless is really downplaying how powerful it is and ios and stock Android doesn't have an answer for it. You also didn't mention the record feature on pixel. Finally on the lockscreen you gave Apple the win because you can change wallpapers when you can literally do the same thing automatically with One UI and Dynamic Wallpaper.

Even though Apple finally made a lock screen that works and you can add widgets (which Android use to do) I don't see a use for all that. I like my lock screen to be simple so it is more of a look at a glance to see the time or a notification. Plus with Samsung if you tap it you can see a few widgets like music, weather, calendar on demand when you want to. But I do give props to Apple for the multiple lock screen feature, which I would probably use if I had an iphone.

The only thing I do not agree with is the notifications, Android has a better way of grouping them and many apps give you the option to interact with the notifications without opening the app. When someone sends six lines of chat one after the other, on Android is only 1 notification, on iOS they remain six and that can clutter your notifications very quickly.

With One IU notification you can also chose the look of the notification on the lock screen. I have mines set at icon only so it hides the full notification until I choose to actually look at it. Idk how to explain it.

I think it's because they make so many phones they even undercut their own sales. Plus Samsung is very good at marketing their phones. The average person usually doesn't care about software customization and stuff only tech enthusiasts like most of us here. The average consumer just wants an affordable phone, that's good at being a phone, and takes good pictures. Which is what pixels are all about.

@@WarriorDecision I don't think so. She likes Pixels (She's been using 6 Pro for a couple of weeks), but this is true, that PixelOS is less featured than OneUI (although samsung does not have Pixel exclusive features). But in this test, She didn't talk about stability, performance and smoothness of these systems, and that's where the Pixel wins.

As much as I love the Pixel as a "phone" and to take point-and-shoot type of photos, Google's own OS iteration feels lacking when it comes to "fun" features or just interesting ones, whereas OneUI and even others have plenty of that. But simply as a phone, the Pixel is at the very top.

A few things you missed from the stock android lock screen. One: the home app that allows you to control the different devices in your home, if your ecosystem is fully Google and second would be your wallet. Also by tapping the weather widget or calendar widget will open the calendar app or weather app without double tap. I don't know if you really researched the features or you just get a script but those are thing that have been part of stock android for awhile. Also you forgot to mention as part of the software is the ability to install custom launchers on Android which gives you a whole other level of customization and with the likes of nova launcher 8 it is just another ball game. I would advice you take a look at that as it's part of the android ecosystem just like using widgets from third party apps on iOS which you seem to mention. Seems you just got a script and forgot to do the homework 😂

She knows this. I think Ella wants to appeal more towards iphone users which is why she does these types of videos. I love her videos but I'm starting to get irritated with her when she does this biased crap
@darthkujo
@darthkujo Жыл бұрын
@@WarriorDecision I agree I did feel the bias towards both devices and judging by the comments her viewers are mostly iphone users and Samsung users. I have multiple devices and I have build and tested roms for multiple android devices so one of the things o usually go through are all the features. I find that many Chinese OEMS for example have had many of those features for years now in there software and now it's been implemented more by the two dominant ones. Which is fair but also would be nice to do the research and be less biased 😅
@jordanjackson8873
@jordanjackson8873 9 ай бұрын
@darthkujo that's because no one cares. When a phone comes with half the things you're trying to get by flashing roms, then no one cares. You guys don't even hear yourself. The fact that you're comfortable using launchers for simple tasks that are available on stock OS's speaks volumes.

I have an iphone 11 pro and the pixel 7. To be honest, I can't put down my pixel 7. I thought lack of iMessage would be an issue, but honestly I don't care much for it. Especially since RCS is working with most of my android using friends. Iphone 11 pro is on its last leg, but it has been a great phone thus far. Would have liked an aesthetic overhaul to be honest as we've been looking at the same icon for over 10 years.

Moreover, the iOS notifications are trash and you've admitted yourself that you might miss notifications on iOS which is the opposite of its main purpose. If I want a cleaner look on Android, I can enter Do Not Disturb mode or even turn off the whole notifications on the lock screen. I just can't imagine how you're OK with these choices.

Great video! I love the transparency. I personally loved iOS 16 coming from an Android user forever. I had the iphone 14 pro max for about 3 weeks before I went back to my S22 ultra. You'd be surprised how little things really do add up of how hard it is to do certain things like editing your homescreen. I use a web browser page to sign in to see my schedule for work and it was impossible to make your own quick icon for the webpage on iOS. I had to just save it to my bookmarks on iOS rather than have an easy icon I can just make to quickly get too on my homescreen like I can in one UI. That's just one small example but I did love the iPhone for certain things but Samsung just does it better in most instances. Airplay is also super buggy for some reason and it got to a point where I didn't even want to watch a movie anymore on my smart tv (I know I could've just streamed from the smart tv but I did it because I didn't feel like setting it up. From the iphone seemed easier). It will not keep a stable connection at all. Always was disconnected every 5 minutes or so. Smart view and Chromecast work flawlessly for Samung and Android. I'll be getting the S23 ultra this coming February.
