I love watching your reviews specifically because despite other tech tubers being great, it’s so much better to have a professional photographer break down a camera so you really know what you’re getting .. can I ask what third party camera apps you use? I use filmic pro for videography but wonder if there are others you use specifically for photography? Keep it up!

Man... cinematography in this video is so great it is impossible for me to be even consider iPhone Xs’s camera good. I mean - those night shots with neons, dim light and selective focus, and me knowing I won’t be able to come close to this on smartphone in coming years make me really evaluate my purchasing decisions. Maybe instead of XS Max should I just save some money and buy a DSLR ? But then again I am no photographer, which only makes me more sad ;/ Great content! With such professional videos you should have much more recognition!

I have a 7 Plus and I've gotta be honest. There just isn't enough of a difference to me for daily use. I'm no pro, I'm just a casual guy who likes to take pictures of his Miata. I think I'll stick with my 7 Plus until the 2020 iPhone comes out. I'll have a post grad job then, and hopefully Apple will have migrated over to USB C and made some chassis design changes! Thank you for posting this great video. It's a shame I hadn't discovered your channel sooner!

Swermie there is a big difference. I have a iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro 10.5 with the same camera as iPhone 7 and in HDR and low light the difference r night and day.

I liked my X camera, but the XS really is better with lighting and colors. Portrait mode is still kind of blah at not blurring unnecessary edges though

I think the reason they kept that secondary lens on the Xs and Xs Max are for the telephoto zoom. Obviously because the Xr doesn’t have this secondary lens, when you zoom in it will look more grainy.

Everything I’ve read says there is no OIS on the front facing camera of either the XS or the X. Are you able to explain what makes the stabilisation so much better on the XS?

I am really disappointed with iPhone exposure bias on My iPhone Xs, the highlights are gone, cant take low key photo not like recent iPhone models and other apps, the pictures are totally flat, how you solve this?

Great video. But in my opinion the difference in image quality isn't too big. Yes, the iPhone Xs camera is overall a leap forward, compared to the iPhone 7, but overall the images look comparable, if you don't really pixelpeep.
