You don’t need mini tool to convert from mbr to gpt. You can go to command prompt , type disk part in command prompt then, you can type list disk. After you typed list disk, you can select the disk by doing select disk 1, or whatever number is at the end. After you selected the disk, type convert gpt. If you need to clean the disk you can just simply type clean

This is exactly what I needed and after surfing KZbin I finally found how to have two operating systems on one computer. My second HHD has all the backpacked-up information of files and Windows 10 system files, but I didn't know how to start the Windows 10 system separately from the Windows 11 drive. The main reason for doing this is that I have some great program applications on the old drive that can't run on Windows 11. Thank you ipMalik.

Also my D drive is just a 121 GB SSD and the C drive is 256, my system is a HP ProDesk 4gen i5 with 16 GB RAM desktop that's unsupported for 24H2 but I bypassed the requirements using Rufus, and after personal files took up the remaining space in drive D, I could only shrink the D drive to 73 GB for the Win 11 24H2/ Atlas Os and noticed a significant slow down in system performance as it hangs terribly, and I'm left with ony 121 MB of free space left in D. I'm not sure if this is a temp issue and would like to clone the D partition Os to the main one in C drive maintaining dual boot, so is there a way to go about this without losing data on C drive? The C is for work and D is for personal and I've already screwed up drive C many times by doin different experiments and have frustrated my company's IT team so much, that they gave me a last warning about installing their remote software for my WFH work from home) use by me always installing a fresh OS on C most of the time. @@Tyson13204 Yes, your computer's technical data is quite suitable for stable operation of the new Windows 11, the only thing is, I don't know how to help you fix the menu for loading two different OS, I think that during the installation of the second Windows there was some glitch in the bootloader program and only for this reason the problem arose. I just installed Windows 10 from Windows 11 24A2 and on the computer the OS selection menu looks as usual, exactly the same as in my video. Perhaps Rufus made these changes.. I watched the video tutorial on your link and I'm not sure that it is necessary to use such a complex method. If there is nothing on your D drive yet, it is a clean Windows 11 without personal files, you can do the following: 1. Boot the computer from the C drive with the old system, hopefully it is Windows, open This PC and format the D drive. 2. Right-click the Start button and select Disk Management, in the window that opens, find the C drive, right-click on it and select "Shrink Volume". In the window that opens, select enough space for the second partition for the new Windows 11 and finish this process. You will see that a partition with unallocated space has been created next to drive C - this is the place for the new Windows 11, right-click on it and select "Create new volume", create a new volume without changing anything in the subsequent settings, open This PC After creating a new partition, connect the USB flash drive for the new Windows 11, and install the new Windows 11 according to this guide: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYq9k4N8fLKLiLc Install Windows 11 in the New Volume that you created next to drive C. First I just want to say thanks for the helpful video and taking the time to help so many people in the comments. When it comes to security, is there any major improvement by having a separate Boot and Recovery partition for each drive? Or should they be on the same one? I say this because it's hard to remove my NVME's from my PC (heatsink and under big bulky gpu) and want 2 completely separate environments for another person in my house to use. Think of it as 2 user profiles, but upgraded. Do you think, for this situation, it would be better to have separate, or combined partitions for Boot and Recovery?

To be completely safe when using two operating systems on two different physical disks, you must install the OS on the first disk while disabling the second disk, then install the OS on the second disk while disabling the first disk. Then you will boot disks not using the bootloader, but using the Boot Menu, this is the most reliable and safe way to use different OSes on different Physical disks. Yes, it’s difficult to physically remove NVME, but maybe you can do it once when you install the OS on another disk? Or you can try to disable NVME in the BIOS, my BIOS does not have such a function, most likely it depends on the motherboard model, but in my BIOS you can disable all SATA drives without problems, and without having to pull out the cables from the drives, you can do this in the BIOS not difficult at all.

Hi, the method of installing two OS on two physical disks can only have one problem, if some failure occurs with the computer and the OS bootloader is damaged, then one of the OS will stop loading. But there is a way to get around this problem and to do this you need to do the following: 1. I am trying to install these system son M.2 (NVME) drives, which makes disconnecting them much more awkward. I have tried installing both systems with both drives in, and it didn't work. After that, I removed one drive and installed the second system again, but I couldn't load it up after inserting the drive with the first system. I have installed the first system again, with the second one still connected to the PC, and it worked??? I am still trying to understand why Windows decided to see both bootloaders this time. Yes, Windows sometimes gives us riddles🙂 Of course, connecting and disconnecting NVME is much more difficult than HDD or SSD, but if you do as I suggested in the previous comment, then in the future you will NEVER have problems with the Windows bootloader. I assume that when installing the OS on two different physical disks, the problem with the Windows boot loader occurs for the following reason: At the time of installing Windows number 1, the bootloader can install Windows on drive C on the first NVME drive, and the bootloader sends a small system partition or some element of Windows number 1 that supports the operation of the OS to drive 2 NVME. When you start installing Windows number 2 on the second NVME disk, the bootloader formats the second disk and deletes the small system partition that belongs to Windows number 1. As a result, Windows number 1 stops working.. After that, you again install Windows number one on the first disk, and if its small system partition ends up on the second disk, Windows 1 will work without problems. But if you reinstall Windows number 2, or some problem happens to Windows number 2, then Windows number 1 will stop loading again. On the computer where I do most of my work, two SSDs are connected and different Windows are installed on each disk, which I installed independently of each other in the same way as I told you in the previous comment. I do the main work in Windows 11 on disk 1, on the second disk I constantly reinstall various OSes, which is necessary for my activities, and before each installation I disconnect all other disks from the computer so that there are no problems with the bootloader.

I will also add that this fact may not necessarily happen, that is, not 100%, but it may well happen depending on how the OS was initially installed and which OS was installed as number 1 in Boot Priority. Something like this has already happened on your computer when you lost access to one of the OS. Only disconnecting all disks from the computer except the one on which you will install Windows will protect against this kind of problem. Moreover, the disconnection does not have to be physical, that is, disconnecting the SATA cable or, in your case, disconnecting the NVME from the motherboard; you can also disconnect one of the drives in the BIOS before installing the OS and not remove the NVME from the computer. Instead of upgrading, I prefer to keep the Win10 on the existing SSD incase something happen. I spent a small amount of money asking the shop to make a NEW installation of Win11 on a NEW SSD or mSATA SSD depending on the internal space for the NEW SSD. So NOW I have 2 SSDs and 2 Windows on the SAME laptop. I can choose to boot to W10 or W11 by passing the F12 key and to select the drive I want. As for old data, that could slowly copy n paste to the NEW drive 。。。👍👍👍👍👍👍👍I am happen with it !

If two Windows are installed on two physical disks, you will always see the other disk when opening This PC. Perhaps I didn't understand your question.. You can disconnect the SATA cable from the second drive, you can also disable the second drive in the BIOS and then when you open This PC you will not see the drive with the second Windows and you will not have access to it.
