Considering the current low voter turnout in South Africa, which is largely attributed to the electorate's disillusionment with the ANC, it's quite perplexing to see IPSOS's prediction that a higher turnout would actually benefit the ANC. In my mind, logically, an increased voter turnout would more likely signify less support for the ANC, not more. The mathematics behind IPSOS's forecast doesn't quite add up.

My synopsis: EFF will garner votes but at tye expense of the ANC, DA will retian WC and will increase their % by +- 4 points. The ANC will slip to 43%. Voter apathy is real and disillusionment with the ruling party and government: There has been a steady decline in voter turnout since the 1994 national election with the 2021 Local General Election (LGE) continuing this trend. The 1994 election saw a voter turnout of 86,87%, whereas the last National and Provincial Election - in 2019 - saw 66,1% of registered voters turn up at the ballot box. The most recent LGE in 2021 produced a meager 45,86% voter turnout. The numbers don’t lie. There is a clear and worrying decline in our national voter turnout.😢
