Never build a warship out of aluminum. They aren’t very advanced. These ships will go up like torches, use high strength steel or titanium never aluminum for a warship.

Its nice looking no doubt. A coastal defense craft, for the gulf, not really a sea going design. Clearly a missile boat. I would have to think if they have any SAM in those VLS they would need a radar or use IR ? But no real IRST visible. Overall a pretty decent effort on Irans part.

Yes I saw a few videos , the two new, each had large radome and they had video of the firing of SAM as well as the c802 asm. The AESA styled two sided looks to be pretty powerful by its size, the other was under a cover. Again a solid effort on Irans part. I would imagine a few more Mahadi class would also be added soon. @@dnv_zohii

Seems a capable design as an assymetric assault ship. Having a helicopter and 3 fast attack craft will make it a dangerous foe to international shipping. With the addition of the VLS and the box launched anti ship missiles she is punching way over her weight. While the alluminum catamaran hull means she will be fast and stable.. However, the obvious lack of good surface and air search radars makes here vulnerable to incoming missiles. the 30mm gun might be used as a CWIS, but without radar she won't be able to intercept more than one or 2 slow moving old anti ship cruise missiles. She will have to rely on speed and stealth to survive.

The ship is already packed to the brim with weapons and fitting an additional entire EW suite and the required power generation into a catamaran hull is no easy task. It's more likely she will rely on her speed and cover from other assets for her survivability.

@@zainday7173 The purpose of stealth is not to avoid detection. Even an F-35 with it's tiny radar cross section will eventually be detected if it get's close enough to enemy radar. The idea is to delay detection in order to approach to within striking distance and launch an attack before the enemy has an accurate enough lock to return fire. Stealth for ships works by reducing the efficacy of "over-the-horizon" radar systems. These radars rely on bouncing radar signals in the atmosphere to increase their range. To do so they have to use very low frequency band radars which can only provide a basic 2D image. Bearing and range. To get an accurate targeting solution using only bearing and range it is nessecary to take multiple measurements from different angles. Meaning a ship will have to maneuvre to change it's angle on bow to the target. This will then produce a heading and target speed. The more measurements are taken the more accurate the solution will be. This takes time to do. By reducing the radar cross section with a stealth design a ship can get closer to it's target before the radar return signal is strong enough to get an accurate bearing and range. Meaning the enemy ship will have less time to calculate a solution. Modern naval combat is all about getting to an advantagous firing position before the enemy can react. After that it is about firing enough missiles to overwhelm a ship's air defences while simultanously avoiding an accurate fix on oneself.

I peg the weakness occurred when more foreign officers graduating from the Naval Postgraduate School, Navy War College and Naval Academy.... Most get more of the advance STEM degree than our own US citizens...

Iran installed 6 ASCM, 2 with range 300 km, 2 with range 700 km and 2 with range 2000 km. If 3 boat can installed with 6 ASCM (300km), So in war formation they have 12 ASCM combat ready. This corvette also can bring max 12 ASCM. I think with 68 m long Catamaran, its effective enough. Don't forget Its also bring 1 copter, torpedo and drone.

У меня воррос : на корабле отсутствует радиолокационные средства, которые выполняют функцию обнаружения, сопровождения воздущных целей и выдачи целеуказания зенитным ракетам ракетам, которых целых 16 штук (могу ошибаться)? Видел картинки, где на последнем корабле стоит РЛС, которая скорее всего эти фкнкции выполняет, так ли это? И будет ли она устанавливаться на все корабли, включая первые? На корабле также много ударных ракет. Но по-видимому отсутствует и РЛС освещения морской обстановки и выдачи указаний ударному вооружению. Может эти функции выполняет что-то другое, либо информацию получают из сторонних единиц, вроде других кораблей или спутника? Очень интересно. В любом случае катамаран получился очень многообещающим, со внушительным вооружением ддя такого водомзмещения. Но в случае недостатков с РЛС, эту проблему надо решить. Удачи, Иран!
