UPDATED TICHO DATA: docs.google.co...
In this video we show and discuss the Ticho, a new integral suppressor from KGMade in Kennesaw, GA. The Ticho (Czech for "silent") features a monocore baffle stack machined directly into a standard 20.5" CZ 455 varmint barrel, providing for a one tax setup since the barrel remains over 16" in length. In this video we show accuracy and chronograph testing results as well as sound metering data collected on both a B&K 2209 and a Larson Davis LXT over the course of several weeks with various types of ammo. CCI Quiet-22 just gets plain silly as you'll see later in the video. Stay tuned, much more on the way.

As a good shooter you compensate for that wind with a 22LR. 1" size targets at 50 meters, not yards is stupid easy to hit with my Tikka T1x with SK Rifle Match ammo. So i'm not very impressed with a 1" target at 45.72 meters. That's 25,4mm i like my 10 - 15mm targets.

I love my Cz 455 TACTICOOL. It really has helped thin some of the jack rabbit population here on the ranch. I wouldn't say it's just good for youth to learn fundimentals, it has helped me tremendously! Incredibly satisfying to take this rifle out to 200+ yards to learn hold overs and how much wind knocks those little 40gr projectiles around. Cheap effective training. Loved this months man can by the way. Keep up the great work!

I would love to see a smaller scale AR SBR in .22 magnum. People don't realize just how effective that round is. You could legitimately have a 90 round mag, which wouldn't be too large/long, or heavy. With pin-point bullet placement, that weapon would be quite, light & stunningly lethal at short/medium range!
@MrNateFlax
@MrNateFlax 2 жыл бұрын
this has blown my mind and i need too know: 1.) is this a barrel or a suppressor? It's legally a barrel right? 2.) if you have a fixed "suppressor" machined/welded onto the end of a barrel so that it's permanently fixed, is it a barrel or an NFA item? 3.) why or why not is this an NFA item? It seems like a perfectly legit way of turning a 16"+ barrel into a slightly more quiet barrel. And you could sell these barrels on various other firearms. Strictly speaking USA laws and stuff.
@GoodGuyGriff
@GoodGuyGriff 2 жыл бұрын
1. As far as barrel length is concerned, integral suppressors are counted towards barrel length measured from the chamber to the muzzle. So this would not be an SBR. 2. Integrally suppressed firearms are NFA items. 3. Its an NFA item because what is important as far as the ATF is concerned is the ability for a device to suppress sound, not the removability of said device.

I realize I am about 4 years late to this party but I wanted to mention that the "numbers" being applied to the sound level of these firearms can be trusted. Understanding the numbers is the problem. Decibel scores are logarithmic and the sound levels increase exponentially. Basically this means that the actual sound level doubles for every 10 decibels. For example, something that is 120 decibels is twice as loud as something that is 110 decibels. So just a few decibels difference is huge, especially on the top end of the scale.

to convey the difference the suppressor makes you could try dry firing it once without a cartridge at all, then firing it normally, then firing another unsuppressed .22 with the same ammunition. We'll never hear exactly what you're hearing, but at least then we could get a sense of the magnitude of the difference it makes.

Eh, idk why people need to think "long barrel=accurate gun". A shorter barrel is stiffer and has potential to be more accurate than a long one. It won't shoot as "flat" in most instances.but group size and consistency theoretically will improve .

corey, that's an interesting point that I hadn't thought of. I wonder though, if it might play out more in a center fire gun with higher recoil.
@jacktumbleweed
@jacktumbleweed 7 жыл бұрын
has a lot to do with internal ballistics as well though. a 22lr may not need a very long barrel for optimum accuracy especially at ranges like this, but compare that with larger calibers shooting longer range, you will definitely see benefits from longer barrels.
@patricktakada9551
@patricktakada9551 7 жыл бұрын
a .22 doesn't need a long barrel, but a long barrel doesn't make it less accurate because .22 doesn't have the energy to affect barrel harmonics. But a longer barrel in centerfires does add to muzzle velocity and muzzle velocity means accuracy at range due to bucking the wind and less drop.
@romeotango5597
@romeotango5597 7 жыл бұрын
It all depends on what you consider accuracy ultimately. Deviation out of the barrel vs environmental effects vs “shootability.” Might be more accurate in a vacuum for example, in some cases. I would argue that accuracy should be defined as the point of impact based on direct interaction with the weapon system. Wind is certainly a factor when shooting but it’s not a factor of the weapon system. I would argue that the round’s ability to mitigate the effects of the environment is more in the “shootability” column. But to each their own, ultimately it is semantics for most of us.

I don't think the silencer section needs to be as long as that, you will have lost some velocity there. If you started with an 18" barrel you could have made the silenced bit 4" and still had a 14" barrel and maintained a good 1050 feet per second using CCI subs.

Ethan DyTioco That could only happen if the round somehow destabilized and started tumbling in the baffles. Even with a 1:16" twist rate the 60gr SSS rounds make it out of the suppressor before they start tumbling, so really nothing to be concerned with.

I've been at a range with someone firing a rifle with a misaligned muzzle brake before. It was shooting sparks everywhere with the bullet smashing into the baffles. An RSO told him to pack it up pretty damn quick. I imagine the same could happen with a poorly aligned suppressor. Like Chad said it's probably nothing to worry about though; it would probably be quite obvious if the alignment were so bad that the bullet would tumble rather than just deflect slightly.
@SuperUncleRyan
@SuperUncleRyan 7 жыл бұрын
The "thingies" are called baffles and what you're talking about is a baffle strike and yes it happens. When it does, especially with larger calibers, it will really make a mess of the suppressor. If you have a good barrel and a good suppressor it shouldn't ever be an issue.

If you want to hit the lime - 1. Take a few breaths. Then pause mid breath. For every shot, pause at the same point in your exhale EVERY TIME. Comes easily, with a few days of practice. Keep your throat open when pausing breath. Don't hold your breath for longer than 5 seconds... If you didn't shoot within 5 seconds, then leave the shot. Start afresh. 2. Stop using muscles... They tremble. For example, you shift your right shoulder forward for the shot. That's not optimal. Position yourself such that you don't have to use muscle power to maintain the position. Don't be afraid of the recoil.. Let it happen and don't flinch when it happens (aka shot anticipation). 3. Squeeze the trigger..not pull it. Use your thumb and forefinger. (Thumb around grip,pulp of finger on the trigger.) Then imagine squeezing the grip+trigger to bring the two fingers closer. 4. Follow through. Don't immediately release the trigger the moment you hear the shot go off. Stay calm and maintain everything as is, until the rifle comes to a complete rest. Then let go and breathe for the next shot, while working the bolt, keeping the cheek glued to the rifle. 5. Lastly, use the exact same part of the finger to trigger EVERY TIME, squeeze along the axis of the barrel and put your cheek on the cheek piece at the same spot EVERY TIME. 6. Calm the fuck down. Lol.. That's all I know.

Hi. I'm one of those "anti gun" people, pro-gun control, living in a non-gun country, don't really see the point all that stuff. Did i set the scene? Ok then, this is a gun i could see myself having fun with. This is very special tool and I can appreciate the work that went into it. Yeah i think that it is THAT good actually, that given the legal circumstances, i might buy one.

You're entitled to your opinion. Thankfully in this country our right to defend ourselves isn't infringed by those who "don't see the point." Again I would protect the rights of any one to think otherwise even though. Glad to see that even though your not "pro-gun" you can see the pure enjoyment in sport shooting.

It should be noted that while everyone talks about suppressors making things quieter etc, 120db is not quiet at all. While you might feel 'comfortable' shooting these things, ie it doesnt make your ears ring instantly, just 7 seconds worth of exposure to 120db in a 24 hour period will leave you with permanent hearing loss, even if you dont feel like it at the time. It will eat away at your frequencies. For reference, 94db for an hour will kill some of your hearing, and every 3 db over that then basically cuts the safe exposure time in half. 125 db leaves you with about 3 seconds of exposure in a 24 hour period before permanent loss will occur. I can imagine all the people saying 'well ive been shooting like this for years and im fine' No youre not. You have less hearing than you did before. Hearing loss happens gradually and trust me you dont want it. You start noticing its harder to understand people talking to you in rooms with lots of other people talking, you get tinnitus, and it just keeps going from there.

@maitele
@maitele 7 жыл бұрын
Austin Massey It goes something like this: "They" (intentionally left vague, but most likely referring to anyone on the left) control most aspects of modern American culture, and are trying to actively tear America apart from the ground up or whatever by indoctrinating kids (into believing Trump = Hitler, with no proof), controlling the media, and using culture to push their agenda. They talk about how Obama (sorry, "their ex president", can't humanize the enemy at all!!!!!) encourages protests- and the fact that they use the word "PROTEST" is extremely important because they IMMEDIATELY conflate that concept with the riots that have been occurring. The intent is to blur the line between an enemy protest and lawless destruction. They briefly touch on how "the only thing left to do is get the police involved and then they just get madder!", ignoring whether such police responses are always justified- obviously they would be though since all those protests are riots, right? Then they say the most disturbing thing of all: That "we" have to fight this "with the clenched fist... of truth." The past words make this, essentially, a tacit request to start shooting at protestors. Because THERE IS NO AMENDMENT BEFORE THE SECOND, DURRRRRRRR. I fucking hate this ad. It's out and out Goebbels-esque propaganda meant to subtly prey on the fear and uncertainty of modern America and turn the entire country against each other. It's utterly disgusting and everyone, pro or anti gun rights, should be INCREDIBLY pissed that the leading gun rights organization would resort to such underhanded tactics.
