Georgia were excellent in the second half and could well have won, but fair play to the Irish lads they were the better team in the first half and showed great composure under pressure to get the winning try. Time the Georgian under 20's were in the 6 Nations.

I 100% agree that its time Georgia were introduced to top level Test rugby on a regular basis. I think they have it in them. But the 6 Nations will never change. Rugby Europe need to keep building and knocking on the door. Make the competition better and keep increasing the talent. Thats the only way.

@@LeMerch They should make their own tournament and stop trying to leech off established tournaments that have been grown over 100 years. 6 nations should not be the default European tournament. It's not. Make you're own tournament.

@@JohnSmith-wo2fz100 years of playing a tournament, and yet only 1 world cup... Help grow the game, not hogg you're amateur skills against other amateur team's. Just ask Argentina how playing against, real world champions is going for them..

Georgia unlucky not to be awarded a penalty 7 pointer for irish lock pulling down the maul when a push over try was iminent. Also when a medi cart is on the field in any other game that would have stopped the game.

To be honest if anyone of those goes over then it's a halfway return kick, not a 22. I (an Irish fan) wasn't happy when they missed them - harder to go back at them into the wind from the 22 and better field position for Georgia. In any event, what a performance from Georgia and some mettle from Ireland to hang tough at the end.

Congratulations on the good game to Georgia. 🍺 That said, since I read (also for the under 20) that they should make the 6 nations (so not make the tournament to 7 but substitute another team), in the place of whom should Georgia play? I ask this (as Italian) because I don't know why some teams can lose and are untouchable, while Italy (loses or wins) is questioned, so, that's why I would like to understand well. Today Italy under 20, after losing (badly) to Ireland, beat Australia (ie the team that few days ago beat Georgia 35-11). After all is the same Italy under 20 who in the 6 Nations finished fourth (ahead Wales and Scotland), losing by 1 point to Ireland and beating France and Scotland. So I ask again, instead of whom should Georgia play in the 6 Nations? Thanks for any answers (despite my "English").

I absolutely agree. Two divisions, with promotion and relegation is the obvious solution. BUT, too many vested interests will object.

that's a very long way to say that Georgia beat Italy in the last two u20 games and the last national team meetings and also Georgia beat Wales in Cardiff within last 2 years, despite not being in six nations on any level, and not getting as many quality test games as Italy, also beating Ireland u20 more than once, and Scotland... but to answer your question, Italy has been playing in the 6 nations for 24 seasons, out of which only managed to finish 4th place highest, that's the reason Italy is criticised , and Georgia should not replace anyone, if we are let in the competition, we should be addition not replacement, but after all that's the 6 nations decision, not yours or mine

@@DavidDavid-ll6gh I don't care to play the 6 nations or the 7 nations, that said though it should be known the history of rugby before writing comments. Italy was not invited into the 6 nations, they earned it on the field, beating France who was the grand slam winner, of course vs the starters, in an official test match played in France (what Georgia failed to do a few months ago at home to Ireland, maybe so it's clearer to you). Italy in its history has defeated ALL the best national teams in the world except NZ and England, some among them it has defeated several times (Scotland, Wales, Argentina and France), instead Australia and South-Africa has defeated only one time (again, always in official test matches against A-teams). Georgia in its history among ALL these teams has beaten only Wales and Italy (a single time), against the others it has NEVER won. Last but not least, in the last World Championship, where Georgia had a great opportunity given the group, lost all their matches (not against NZ or France like Italy) and finished last. In the first of these summer test-matches, after Italy lost on Samoan soil, Georgia had yet another opportunity (at home against Fiji), can you tell me what happened? If you don't know I'll tell you, the Fijians won. I repeat, I'm NOT writing this because I don't want Georgia (quite the opposite), though it's not correct to write only what suits your own ideas.
