I not long ago converted my xvs650 to a single Mikunioz carb, best thing I ever did. It’s a different bike now
@iRidetas4 жыл бұрын
I'm seriously concidering doing a single carb conversion. What manifold did you use? Or did you buy it as a complete kit. If so do you have a link? Cheers

iRidetas , I made my own, considered a few options from the mighty eBay, but decided that doing it myself would be more rewarding. Took way to much time, but was worth it. Will take a video in the light of day sometime in the next few days

If you do a video can you send me a link, I'd be super keen to watch and learn

Rejeting will increase top speed ? If you rejeting the engine heat will not be a problem ? For example when you drive at low speed in traffic jams ?

Hey iRides, That fix seemed to happen way too easy. Are you sure you were working on the right bike? 🤣🤣🤣 Love your work, it is sounding great.

I have a 1999 XVS650 with carb (starting/running) problems. However, instead of adjustable pilot screws, the screw are covered with (sealed?) caps with a single small hole in the centers. What procedure needs to be followed to remove the cap so that the pilot screw can be adjusted/changed? Thanks.
@iRidetas3 жыл бұрын
Drill bit in hole, rotate drill bit with drill. Voilla
@dalemullen963 жыл бұрын
@@iRidetas: Thank you for the reply and advice. If I do this procedure, will it be necessary to purchase a new pilot screw (if available) to replace the pilot screw (?) already in the jet?
@iRidetas3 жыл бұрын
Mate you need to do some time on google!
@dalemullen963 жыл бұрын
@@iRidetas Ah, so you don't know either. Unfortunately Google has not been much help in solving this problem which seems to be somewhat unique in this case. Thank you anyway.

Ok ill bite, IF you are in the right place and are def' looking at the pms the caps are just tamper proof cover set at the factory to factory specs to meet emmisions, and so people dont destroy the rideability of the bike fiddling with it. If they are there as it seems they are then the pms has not been messed with. Drill them out to expose the pms underneath, then you are free to adjust the pms as much as you need to by inserting a small blade screw driver into the whole to turn the pms. Nothing unique about this everyone does it on most bikes on the market that are carby, with people buying second hand bikes the previous owner or shop did it! You will not need to buy new pms unless you over tighten it and damage the tip so lightly bed the pms then wind out. For xvs650 companies do make aftermarket easily adjustable elongated pms which you may be able to buy or just do it via screwdriver. Found these instructions on google pretty easily, mid way down it talks about the pms caps you have! I'm curious as to how out of sync your carbs are after all this. Wouldn't surprise me if they aren't even close and you're missing out on a noticeable bit of grunt and power because of it.
@iRidetas4 жыл бұрын
I will sync them as a video. ATM I'm waiting on the manometer to arrive but it doesnt hang or show any real symptoms of been out of sync to a major level. I have experience with out of sync carbs on my xs650 and it was very obvious

@@DFPFTW hi mate thanks for the reply, I got standard filter, the bike had standard jets and the plugs were white so I went from 20 pilot to 25 and 3.5 on the mixture but too rich I can start it with no choke in winter lol, so I'll go down to 22.5 , the main I went from 90 to 100 so I'll try 110
