This stuff is the coolest. The problem is, It's hard to use it playing live as you need a foot pedal switching from clean to distortion.

@jameschoi999 Yes, you can turn every knob on the amp... including the on/off switch. It does sound that good. It sounds even better if they would implement the use of a dock interface. The app does act like an amp and not just a pedal.

The metronome switches on or off. I like to import drum tracks from my drummer and play with those. If you play on the road.. this is a great app for writing songs and recording in hotel rooms etc. It makes a nice light traveling recording studio for your ideas.

how do you connect the Iphone on a guitar amplifier ? Have you a special cable? What about the impedance between the output spekers and input amplifier?

@Shiraz157 Yes you can. I run it on my Fender Frontman 15G solid state. It makes a nice clean speaker for it. You just need a guitar cable with a headphone jack at the other end.

I appreciated how it was like he was discovering this shit out for himself. Could totally see myself messing around with that expression on my face. I just ordered my iRig today, so in two weeks I'll be sitting in front of my ipod touch with a guitar and a "wtf" expression myself :D

It`s great but my problem is with iOS 4.2.1 on my iPhone 3G, all I can hear using the iRig interface and Amplitube software is noice and intermittent sounds while I try playing something. I think it really depends on the iP software.

@cheberli09 I am talking about the auto setting which is supposed to be automatic and is demonstrated as such in the video. You are talking about the tilt setting. While the tilt setting works as advertised, I find it quite impractical in that I don't have a third hand to move my iphone up and down while I'm using the other two to play the guitar. What I did find though, was that the auto setting was much more effective with the noise filter turned off. I guess it filtered the sweep out as noise

Hi Stephen, I just bought iRig and Amplitube for my iphone 3GS. I need to ask you for a favor. Could you plerase help to set up a Preset to get a Gilmour sound (such as the one of "Confortably Numb") using iRig and AmpliTube for iPhone?. I knew that there is no way to load Presets inside the AmpliTube for iPhone but, you may shortly describe Effect setup, Effects order and Ampli set up to get such a kind of sound. Many thanks in advance. Best regards Paolo

When I switch the wah to "auto", it just stays at the position it was at for the "on" and does not give an auto wah effect. Am I missing something?

@cheberli09 I actually got it to work with some adapters, and it actually works fine. no screeching and virtually no delay. the only problem is, is that there's a little fizzing noise in the background when i play. it's not a huge deal but i kinda wish it was gone.

iRig is cool. We use it a lot for our app and it always works great. Our app RockProdigy is based on real time pitch recognition, that means that it hears your guitar and gives you feedback in real time on your lessons and songs. Thanks iRig!

@ilPeval I didn't see a response but i'll try to help, you could try some deep delay effect with a britich amp setting with low gain and add a bit of fuzz and some chorus effect too, that should do the trick for most "deep-delay-melting-away" kind of effect, you can play around with the EQ too to find a good tone. thats what i use anyway. hope i could help a bit x)

Do you think it'd sound good to play with a 15W amp in my room for practice or at a studio with friends in a 50W speaker, nothing professional, just for fun. Considering i'd be playing some punk rock like Old School Green Day, Ramones, Alkaline Trio or Offspring... Would it sound good enough? Does it handle heavy distortion well, when amplified by an external speaker? Good (and sharp) enough to hear with someone slamming the drums 2 feet away from me?

@tiefighter94 I would try a noise gate, pedal or rack mount, between the phone and amp. It may or may not work, but most music stores will let you try it if you bring in the IPhone. Try befor u buy is always good advice. My theory is that at the end of the day this is not much different than processing your tone befor the amp which usually needs a noise gate to get rid of buzz. I know the app has one, but obviously its not working well.

@salaipapa It's not perfect. The iRig is the noisiest of the interfaces that I've tried. The app is great, but to get your guitar into the phone I'd recommend either the LiNK. I personally love the GuitarJack, but AmpliTube does not currently work with GuitarJack.

@tiefighter94 no dude..... if you want it in that way just plug it with a normal jack and get some adapters wich you can connect your male jack cable of your guitar.... but the problem is your laptops sound card is not design for audio interface... and you will be having delay sounds on it and high latency it means theres a lot of screech going on.... if you want to play in it using your laptop... buy a usb audio interface... you could buy it from 150 dollars or 170....
