Actually it is called irish step dancing to differentiate it from set dancing, ceili dancing or sean nos, but in the irish step dancing world, it's just referred to as Irish dancing

Kids Chambers I love it to,but there were no schools close. I,using KZbin,taught myself. It is so worth the money if the shoes and stuff and the time,you won't regret it!

5:19. I thought Kilts were only worn by the Scottish not Irish. Somebody correct me if I am wrong though.

The Irish totally wear kilts too. It's just that the Scots made them famous for some reason!

Up until late 1990s men and boys wore kilts for Irish dance competitions. Then when the show Riverdance came about the fashions changed and became more bling and it was around then male dancers started to wear trousers more. Males can still wear kilts if they want to in Irish dancing.

No the Kilt is originally Irish but it was unbelted and called a Leine. The Scots applied a belt. Tartan is African and Japanese and came to Scotland in the 16th century.
