I find many aspects of the _Táin Bó Cúailnge_ to be remarkably Indo-European, the Donn Cúailgne and the Finnbeannach bulls of Ulster and Connacht being representative of the economic importance of pastoralism, in ancient Ireland in particular, and how tribal conflicts over cattle inspired this particular tale in the Ulster Cycle. Much of Irish vocabulary of course has cognates in the Indo-Aryan language of Sanskrit(Old Indic), such as _aíre_ being related to _arya_ and _bodhar_ and _bodhira_ and _nemed_ and _namas._ Cattle were of great important to the ancient people of India, the Vedic Indo-Aryans in particular, many passages in the Rig Veda confirm this... and the word _"gotra"_ meaning "cattle pin" and _grámas_ meaning "village" but is actually referring too three to four troops of families and their livestock, in addition to the economic importance of cattle in the Steppe culture of the Yamnaya, that sometime around the 4th to 3rd millennium B.C. along with the Corded Ware brought these languages into Europe is what I find most fascinating, furthermore perhaps the _Táin Bó_ is a folk memory preserved in the Irish mythological tradition echoing back to a time when PIE were still in the _Urheimat_ homeland.
