Dermot really is the linchpin to your contributors. Reads his partner's intent and does his best to match their energy. An extremely accommodating comedian who would do well (and should be in) an ensemble group. I know we all bag on him from time to time, but he really is the anchor or maybe foundation of the whole group. Well done Dermot, always an enjoyable guest.

It depends on the channel whether you watch for Opinions or not. This channel is more about entertainment then a review of the product being consumed. But if it’s say a tech review Channel or movie review channel then definitively, the reviewers opinion matters or why watch it.

I watch for opinions. I don't care to see people making faces because it's too spicy, or the liquor is too strong, or because it's an Asian fruit, or an insect or something. I want to see legit reviews as if I'm making a decision whether I will spend my hard earned money on these products. Every culture around the world has 2 types of food in common, filled pasta pockets, and meatballs. Since you've now done traditional "Dumplings" it's time to try some of the others, like Pierogies, Empanadas, Ravioli, and many MANY more. You could do a whole episode on Pierogies alone since there's so many different filling options from breakfast to dinner to desert, and there's different ways to prepare them as well, from boiled to pan fried to deep fried.

Dumplings (Asian) originated in Northeastern China and are called Jiaozi (Gee-ow-za) the Japanese adopted them and call them Gyoza and Lamian (Laa-me-en) which the world knows as Ramen the Japanese pronunciation of Lamian 拉面 which means pulled noodles. The rest of Asia through Chinese influences have modified them for local taste. The soup dumplings Darren mentioned in the beginning are from Shanghai and known as XiaoLongBao (Sh-ow-long-bao). I've been living in Chia the last 2 and a half decades and eat dumplings, Jiaozi, A LOT.

In America we usually have 2 types of dumplings that most love. One has sort of a noodle texture when cooked and they are rolled flat. The other is like a soft pillowy dumpling that sucks up the flavor of anything it's cooked in. I enjoy them both but prefer the second one because it can be savory or sweet. Dinner or dessert. I a nice chicken and dumplings or a nice pot of Apple dumplings with a bit of vanilla icecream on the side. Oh so good.

When eating with chopsticks, once the food touches your lips, they are not supposed to go back on the plate. That is why Japanese never bite sushi in half. The Chinese also don't bite dumpling in half. That is also why they slurp noodles. They don't bite the noodles and let the remainder fall back in the bowl.

Here in Texas, my late mother would make chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were made from biscuit dough, and it was delicious. The dumplings contained nothing. Just surrounded by a delicious white gravy.
