Love my 960 my only question is why is the keep away light house on the charger zoned so high ? It misses a good amount of space in front and on both sides where the charge is

Perfect timing, thanks for the tutorial. I just bought the 960 and Brava M6 on Thursday. I didn’t know how to find the map. I was thinking about the I7 , but couldn’t justify the $200 price difference for keep out and individual room cleaning. Love the feature that you can send the robot home when the bin in full and than resume. Helpful with 3 large dogs. The only thing I wish it have the ability to link to the M6 when you schedule a time. FYI if anyone is interested, Lowe’s in my area had an in store special for $399

Yeah maybe in the future, I would just schedule the m6 a 90 minute difference between when the 960 starts and when the m6 starts mopping. Hope you like your robot dual 🤔

I think the m6 have imprint link with the 900 series. I never tried because i don't have a m6, but i think first we schedule the m6 for all the rooms and then "she" ask if vacuum first. She puts the 900 to work. It's just a guess. Have you tried?

It does work, but only if you start the robot from the App, unfortunately with scheduling feature it only allows you to select a day and time on the 900 series.

@@RobotMasters Yep that's exactly what I do. Is the 960 lacking any physical features of the I7/9 that prevents it from selecting rooms and no go Zones? Seems like it should be able to since it can map your floorplan. Maybe they are just reserving those features for the more premium models.

@@richardsmith1161 The hardware not there, the i7 and s9 do have a significantly faster processor and morr memory to handle the smart mapping features like the keep out and room select. I am not 100% sure what the newer Roomba use, but from rumors it a quad core processor like on the Roborock. The i7 has came down significantly in price, after the release of the s9

Hi Nathan I just recently discovered your channel not that long ago and have thoroughly enjoyed your content. I also purchased my new Roborock S5 max after watching your video on it. I have a two part video idea, feel free to ignore my request if it sounds too tedious. My idea is to have a ultimate robot vacuum showdown with all your robot’s by putting them through their paces and grading them on a points system that allocates points every round to determine a winner. Here are some examples of test you could perform best navigation, clean up, carpet, fastest to docking station, best app you could also creat a little obstacle course fo see which robot gets through it fastest. I would also like to see a similar video putting all your mopping robots against each other including the two way vacuums such as the Roborock S5 max. I know I’m asking a lot but I think it would make for a fun video. Thanks keep awesome 😎

I found this video very helpful. This is our first device and it set up nice. We have about 2000 sq ft. The first pass covered at least half the house but did not enter into the main family room or entry. The first area was mapped. Can I reset or edit the map to allow the robot to continue into the larger room and entryway? Excellent information on this and your other videos. Thank you very much.

love my 960 but what im not happy about is since it has iadapt 2.0 it looks like it wont be getting the update that the other roomba's are getting since they have 3.0.doesn't really seem fair,don't see a difference in the newer one's navigation vs the 960 and to me they all work just like a Samsung power bot and im sure the 960 and 980 would do fine with the 3.0 update.wish they would've given it.

A lot of the older roomba models are still being used today, like the e5 and 960 models. I believe they are still good for 2021 and they are very cheap to get. Haven't had much experience with Eufy robots.

Nathan with all of the robot vacuums you have, could you please make a video or make a list of which vacuums you would recommend someone get? I feel there are too many to choose from and I hear good and bad from everyone. But you have so many of the major competitors and I would love to see your "choices" of the lot. Maybe choose a couple from different price tiers? Maybe share which robot you use in your home primarily? If you already have this posted so sorry for not seeing it. Ok here my top robots from the cheapest around $300 or less. The Roomba e5 or the Roomba 960 if you can find it on sale. The mid range, around $500, the Roborock s5 Max, the higher end models $500 - $1,000 Roborock s6 or Roomba i7+ with self emptying bin. Lastly over $1000 the Roomba s9+.

Since the vacuum motor is in the bin, I wonder if I could swap a 980 bin for my 960 bin and get the higher suction performance?

It could be possible that the dirt bin and power pins align and work physically. Keep in mind since the 980 has a newer generation motor it may damage the electronics in the 960 model, motor may draw additional current or different voltage outputs could damage the motor.

I can only Imagine how it would be if they offered and lidar version of these custom order only for this one the 980 and the i7 rommba I would love to see that keep rommba algorithm but just add a lidar and then vs them with the Neato D7

Yeah if iRobot came out with a lidar version of the i7+ or s9+ it would make for a very competitive robot. The navigation now is pretty good, just struggles in complete darkness.

Robot Masters oh yes I love mine it’s definitely a good improvement over the Samsung powerbot with my 980 sometimes it actually covers the whole house in the dark but if I leave a night light on with just a little light it does fine itself better ,the powebot 7040 that I had that still wasn’t enough so I let my friend use it and the love it,named it and everything so I’m not even going to ask for it back they just wanted to try it but they can have it lol

I recently got the 960. It works pretty well and I use it in conjunction with the virtual walls. The only thing is that I wish the app showed the battery percentage.

Yeah it weird that none of the Roombas can show the battery percentage. Maybe iRobot can add this in a software update.

How would you compare roomba 960 to Shark iq? I'm confused between two. I have a multi storey house with main floor of hardwood and rest two floors (upper and basement) are carpet.

The Shark IQ can only map one floor. The 960 creates a new map each time so you don't get smart mapping features.. Both do fine with hardwood floors and carpets.

On the first cleaning, do I have to “teach” the robot wherr to go in my house?

No the robot will follow a predetermined route and cover all the areas. Once the 960 learns the route, the cleaning time will go down since it will be more efficient. The 960 doesn’t have room or area select.

Have you notice how the new app version is buggy? 4.5.1 Sometimes when I select clean and the area I want to clean, instead of check marks I get numbers in the little squares. Numbers like clean bedroom first, second kitchen... But what ironic it’s the robot do not follow the order I’m selecting. The app also pop up an I Information message that now I can choose the cleaning order I want, but it’s simply don’t work. Many complained about that new version. Can’t believe they released that one and simply not working. The scheduling is also now buggy. And now check marks are back and numbers gone. Lol

I tried both ways holding the clean and home button while pressing spot button 3 or 6 times. I think for the WiFi models the robot will alert you of any sensor issues, so the manual method won’t work.
