We have the i7+ for a year now. It does our whole first floor. We have it set to run daily at midnight to make sure everyone sleep. It does the kitchen and foyer which takes about 35 mins. On Tues and Fri it does the WHOLE house including fam room, dining, living room which takes about 2.5 hours because it has to return to the base and recharge then come back and finish the job. We turn the chairs on our kitchen island and kitchen dinnette upside down on the table each night so it can reach more of those areas. Also twice a week we turn the chairs on the dining room set upside down on the table so it can clean that well too. The thing is AMAZING. The only thing I would say is if you have kids make sure they get all their little tiny toys and stuff off the floor because it has occasionally gotten some of my girls hair scrunchies stuck in the rollers and it will clog it up, also has gotten those plastic grocery bags stuck in the rotor and stop too. Also it will require you to do maintenance and replace rollers, that little corner brush it uses, filters, and the front wheel too. I found out the hard way to just use the official ROOMBA rollers because we were trying to be cheap and buy those aftermarket rollers and the thing makes HORRIBLE noises like it was dying so we went and bought the OFFICIAL rollers and its back to normal.

Agree with buying official rollers, tried the cheap ones. Make a load of noise and don't pick dirt up anywhere near as well. Such a difference but don't really see why they look identical.

The irobot product, company and customer service stink.. We've been trying to resolve issues as soon as we received this as a gift for last Christmas. My previous model (not irobot) worked for years and I wish we never got rid of it!! The robot never finds it's host, doesn't empty it's bin, the brush falls off after a few seconds and We've had to replace the head module 2 times. We've spent more money trying to fix this brand new dang thing than the actual robot. The company refuses to give a refund or replace the robot even though we're still under warranty! One deficiency of the Imprint Link tech is that the vacuum must finish its ENTIRE job before starting the mop. This is a real drag if you have a larger home. Would be awesome if the vacuum could go out and start vacuuming hard floors first, with the mop following. Also, if the two robots are running at the same time, they do not know how to avoid each other. Demolition derby in the hallway....

I got my 675 a about 6 weeks ago on sale for $250. I LOVE IT! I live in a studio apartment, don’t have a pet, and shoes are left at the door so battery life, navigation, pet hair, and the best clean possible isn’t a concern for me. And this being my first robot vacuum I didn’t want to go overboard. The Braava 240 is absolutely on my list next unless they release a new one that is reasonably priced with app connect capabilities.

@@andreab425 sorry for the late reply. I purchased it in Oct 2020 and then got a dog in Dec 2020. It worked for me for a while until I really got sick of cleaning the bristle style brush. Dog hair just coated that brush, so if you have pets that shed, do not buy unless you’re okay with more maintenance. I just upgraded to the i3+ last week and it is much improved. I did buy the Braava 240 in early 2021 and that is such a good map I highly recommend, as long as you buy the washable pads.

If you don't have a robotic vacuum yet get one, they are wonderful. I am a happy Neato D7 owner (3) and I thought that vacuuming a couple of times a month would be enough but we have a dog so my robots vacuum 3 days a week (three and a half hours each day) and still get a significant amount of debris every time. Our house is cleaner and the floors look great.

@@EstebanBustos It takes it much longer to clean the exact same area and it doesn't do as good a job. It's not garbage in and of itself, but, in my experience, it is compared to the 980. To be honest, if I was in the market for a new robot vacuum, I'd go for a Roborock. The one with the self cleaning base... What's it called? S7 MaxV Ultra? It's similar money but it also mops, cleans itself, empties itself and has lidar.

Difference between Roomba 870 and Roomba 980 is significant. I had no idea that 980 is so much better than 870 until I test it on my own. I thought the 980 would be 870's with mapping but I was wrong. Roomba 980 is finally real vacuum cleaner. Both in eco and boost mode it has so much more suction power than previous models which were simply sweepers. Now it's real vacuum. I had all generations of Roomba, including entry model 620, through 782e, 870 and now 980. They are all very good, but the 980 is a king of all previous Roomba models. I can't even imagine what is i7 or S9 in compare to 980 lol

So far very happy with the i7. Not too happy with the M6 yet. Great technology but I believe I need one more generation of advancement before I'm happy with shelling out the price tag. Issue I currently see with the Braava M6: -It should have ability process a mapping run without mopping. It just takes WAAAY to long to get a map otherwise -It should be able to 'see' the grain or alignment on wood floors or tile and align itself to prevent cross streaks. -It should be able to 'lift' the soiled/wet mop off the floor when returning to base so as not to drag a dirt mop head over a previously cleaned surface. For now, I"m keeping the Roomba i7, and returning the Braava M6 I'd appreciate any insight on the timing of Roomba's next gen mopping robot OR if you feel another brand is there yet with the above features

I have Guinea pigs, and constantly get hay all over the floor. Would any of these be able to handle large pieces of hay, or even it at all?

i honestly don't see why a camera is needed to designate cleaning certain rooms (i3 vs i7 & s9). My i3 maps the house and that should be enough to designate rooms. I can see why the camera would be necessary for specific areas within a room though. I just got an i3 today. Does anyone know if it will still activate at it's scheduled time even after I decided to manually activate it early on the same day?

They will over time. Cover the edges in a felt strip.

What about if you were to be moving to a different house how can you reset the mapping on the robot? But even though the the i3 can’t do keep out zones can you still do a straight line barrier through app in the i3?

I personally prefer most technology to be black rather than white but I have to admit that the black M6 really doesn't look great. It feels as though iRobot have tried way too hard to copy the S9's colour scheme without caring about how it'll look on the M6's body. I think that my main problem is that rose-gold circle with the smaller, black circle in the middle. The main body looks pretty good but the small, black circle at the centre where the logo is placed just ruins it for me. It looks really out of place & seems like iRobot haven't given it their usual attention in terms of aesthetics

I think it would be very interesting If you test dysons new cinetic big ball absolute 2. Since it claims to be the only vacuum with HEPA like behaviour, but without any filters.
@a111z4 жыл бұрын
It still uses a filter, they just claim that the filter never needs to be washed or replaced (the last claim is not quite true, it can clog and will require replacement if that happens)
@martinkrummer5734 жыл бұрын
@@a111z Im aware of the post motor filter. I know that there is a possibility, that It has to be replaced. But the real filtering which filters like a HEPA filter isnt happining there. Thats why I would like him to test it.

Hey, what's your recommendation for best self empty robot vacuum for people with kids? Especially toddlers? We tried a Deebot T8+ and loved the laser navigation, but had real trouble with the robot getting stuck on a small floor transition, getting stuck halfway up it's self empty bin, not emptying completely, and being entirely phobic of a rug in my son's room. We're currently using an i8+ (costco exclusive i7 with bigger battery) and it's very easily harassed cornered or confused by our son moving around the house...
@VacuumWars4 жыл бұрын
he self emptying feature just seems to do better for us if I run it more frequently - about three times a week - and we have cats. As far as getting confused by kids, I bet all AI has a long way to go in that regard. :)

I spent a ton of time making this comparison table of the most popular Robot Vacuums on Amazon on 20 different metrics that mattered to me. You can compare any options you want against some of the top options to see if it's the best one for you. You can add and remove options from it and customize the criteria to match your needs. Cat Hair, Rugs, Self-Emptying and Re-charging were most important to me. It's kinda like a shared spreadsheet on steroids because it pulls in all the specs and ratings. Here's my comparison project app.skeema.com/?pid=lWVoJB3OD1olKXqcdcBZ

While these are great robots with a lot of potential. Please note, the app has a mountain of bugs that iRobot has yet to address after a month and a half. Your robot will likely give you plenty of headaches because of the app has that many bugs. I personally would not recommend any of the vacuums until they fix these bugs. My Braava M6 is delightful but leaves streaks. I want to chuck my S9+ out the window half the time in frustration. Please review the iRobot's app reviews to see how other Roomba owners are fed up. The app NEEDS to be fixed.

Vacuum Wars, Love your concise tests and evaluations!!! I have watched both your 'BEST Robot Vacuums 2020 Edition - Vacuum Wars' and this iRobot Black Friday special. I will be making a purchase soon based off your information. Can you please confirm if the S9 was included in your earlier '2020 Best of' video, but just not selected as one of your top 2 for premium?

I can't find the "black bundle" advertised (not that's it's "out of stock," it's not even carried or offered!) anywhere on the web. There is one site that phishes me, but doesn't actually offer the black units. Was this discontinued, or hasn't been released yet, or what?

I would say if you do not have a lot of carpet you can also get the eufy 25c for 99 dollars black friday pretty good. But, none of them can clean as well on carpet as a roomba. Roomba's also just seem to be built better. They feel more solid feels like higher quality. Eufy feels cheaper like 99 dollars vs something twice the cost. Small apartment or home eufy is fine for tile. Also the app is nice and simple compared to eufy.

How is the camera effected when the lights are off and in a dark room? Would Neto be better for this room type? Appreciate it

I had the I9 and M6, awesome machines, however I disliked having two separate machines. I since bought one lidar machine that is also a mopping system. It is as GOOD at cleaning as the Irobot combo? Maybe not, but it still does a very very good job and I really like the idea of combining two functions in to one machine.
@darxustech28834 жыл бұрын
It would be cool if somebody made a machine that had all the movement and navigation parts in one piece that docked with vacuuming or mopping parts, depending on the job. But it wouldn't surprise me if that ended up costing more.
